so funny, we went to a concert at the park tonight at the lake we live on (accidentally, we were actually on a walk to feed the ducks), and it was doodle central! there were 5 other dogs we saw.  three were doodles!  then there was a golden, and an australian shepherd.  i know part of it is because we are more on alert now, but i thought it was hilarious.  out of 6 dogs there, 4 were doods!  :)

my dh was walking appa and the kids over to the lake the other day and a car stopped and pulled over, and said they just had to stop to see the pretty puppy, lol.

For the first two months or so that I had Sadie, we couldn't go on a walk without someone stopping (in a car or on foot) to tell me how cute she was!

There does seem to be many more "Doodles".  Remember that there are many types of "Doodles", Goldendoodles, Labradoodles (also in this category is ALDs, etc), Cockapoos, etc., as well as some doodle look-alikes (including Poodles).

Here most of us tend to think of "Doodles"as either Goldendoodles or Labradoodles.

 

I almost forgot to mention all the generations.

 

The Poodle does seem to be the ideal (or the "in") dog to use to create another "type" of dog.

There are many doodles in my area, too.  And standard poodles as well!  One of Camus' fur friends is a beautiful black male standard poodle named Bravo.  He is the biggest poodle I have ever known and a real cuddle bug.

It is also SCARY!! Whenever a breed becomes the "in" breed, there are people out there who are unscrupulous and capitalize on it--overbreeding, inbreeding, puppy mills, etc etc. I am glad we have this site to educate people about responsible breeders and other groups that rescue whenever they can.

I just got back from a walk with Bailey to a new area of town...Low and behold there was a beautiful black labradoodle named Crackers...He was gorgeous!!!  And I loved the name...
