My 4 month old doodle is gaining about 3 lbs a week....is this normal? She weighed in today at 26.7lbs. She is going to be so big! Does this seem like an average weight for this age?

Parker did that for a while too...then he stopped and now he's only 55lbs at 11 months! The way he was growing, we thought he was going to be a big doodle! But his daddy now calls him a "mini" doodle! lol
Oliver was gaining about 3-4 lbs every few weeks then leveled off, then had a huge growing spurt from 6-9 months where he gained about 15 lbs.. and got very tall. He is my big boy. Sasha gain weight from a puppy at a steady rate but was only a pound or two until about 1 year old.
my Chloe is doing the same thing..she is going to be 5 months on the 19th and she is 37 lbs! about 2 lbs a week for the last month..Growth spurt I guess. I expect her to be about 65-70 lbs.
That was the rate Chester was growing 3 Lbs a week. He is 6.5 Months and weighs 60 Lbs. We are anticipating around 80- 90 Lbs.
There is an equation that other doodlers have shared.. the 4 month weight doubled + a few pounds is the likely adult weight.
He was 42 Lbs at 4 months..
His Brothers Tucker and Dillon (Other DKers) are weighing in about the same
We had him neutered at 6 months- Does this have an effect on the growth? I hope not!
There seems to be a few Schools of though on the best time to Neuter..
Neutering does not effect the growth. 85 - 90 lbs. sounds about right and I think that 6 months is the perfect age for neutering. Many puppies are neutered before even leaving the breeder and I think that is too young. Both my dogs were neutered before I got them.
We love our giant doodle! Hope Chester is as much of a love boy as Kona. He was 94 pounds for a while but has trimmed down to 82. ;o) We thought we could see him growing as a puppy!
He is a gentle Giant. .. He is pretty tall and trim.
How did you loose the weight? must have been hard to not feed him when he wants it.
My doodle was 10 pounds at 8 weeks and 20 pounds at 20 weeks and now weighs 35 pounds (11 months old)--they grow really fast at first. The rule is to double the 4 month weight, so you could be looking at 50 pounds. I see now that others have told you this already.
