Doodle Things That Make You Go Hummmmmmmm.....

I think I'm beginning to learn that I may be just a little Doodle Spoiled!  Lucy and Sophie were by no means angels, but I'm seeing something with Miss AnnaBelle that I did not have to deal with with either Lucy or Sophie and that is the trail of water from the water bowl.  I never had an issue with this at all.  Not even a drop of water on the floors with Lucy or Sophie.  I have had fosters that were an issue, but Miss AnnaBelle, Oh My Goodness.  She is like a Swiffer wet mop and someone just keep pushing the spray button.  I could wait till she has a drink and then I could mop the kitchen floor.  She can drop water clear into the next room.  It has become a standing joke to say, Oh, AnnaBelle had a drink, as you are getting out the paper towels to clean up the floor.  I'm trying to figure out what it is?  Why is it so bad with her and never an issue with Lucy and Sophie.  They all have beards.  Does it have something to do with the hair type?  Or is AnnaBelle sticking her face deeper? or ?  With one of my fosters I just kept a towel laying there and when I would hear him drinking I would go over and wipe off his face.  Miss AnnaBelle caught on to the papertowel and what it was for after the first time and any time she sees a paper towel in my hand she takes off in the other direction.  (Obviouslly that is a training issue and we will get there).  I'm just curious why some dribble none and others dribble everywhere?  Any thoughts?

Oh yes Joanna, it actually is rather cute because I swear you can see her little mind going Oh Crap, paper towel, run!  Last night I had one in my hand and just reached down to pet her and she took off.  Caught me off guard for a minute till I realized why she ran.  We will be working on getting her to wait to have her face wiped off.

LOL, she must be related to Auggie. I can totally see her taking off. I would clean Monty's ears after swimming with a Kleenex and Auggie watches. Then I would grab another tissue for Auggie's ears and as soon as I take a step towards him, he takes off. Kind of like "catch me if you can."

My second doodle Oscar is such a messy drinker! He leaves trails of water everywhere haha :). It's quite adorable though, even the tips of his ears touch the water and his beard is fully submerged.

Kona is the sloppiest drinker ever. I think he just leaves his mouth open after drinking and the last mouthful is dribbled hither and yon. I've had dogs my whole life and none of them were like this. It seems like his face is always wet!

That is Lucy's trick.  She rubs her face on the front of the sofa after eating!  I guess if I could get AnnaBelle to do it after drinking she could wash off what Lucy put on there ... win win!  lol

Drives me nuts. Dont care about the water as much but the food...ugh. I keep her in a gated area of the kitchen until shes done and i can zoom in for a wipe!

We have a serious dribbler - worst I've ever seen, but I just decided that yesterday's kitchen hand towel becomes tomorrow's beard-mop. She has learned, for the most part, to head for the towel after a drink - but oh we do have those days when a trail of dribble marks the way.  Sometimes it goes two directions - as she heads off, then remembers the beard mop and heads back to the kitchen. :)
