Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I wanted to take a few moments today and post an update on Harper, our doodle girl with the ectopic ureter and inverted vulva and personally thank everyone here on Doodle Kisses who donated to Harper's Fund.
Thanks to you and your generosity and support, Harper had her corrective surgery a few weeks ago and she is doing GREAT!
Words can never fully express just how much we love and appreciate each and every one of you. We are forever thankful and eternally grateful to our DK family for all that you have done and continue to do for DRC and our doodles in need.
Below is the official "Harper Update" from Charlotte Jamison, (Harper's foster mom now "furever" mom) from this morning.
GREAT NEWS ABOUT HARPER!
"Harper visited her vet today to have her stitches removed and received great news about her surgery! It definitely was a success!
Before the surgery Harper continued to have so much trouble with infections and had trouble with incontinence. That has all changed now. She is still on Proin and might have to take it forever but there is a chance she might not.Usually during her vet visits Harper would have an accident but today she stood patiently while her stitches were removed and not a drop of urine was left anywhere.
Below is a picture of Harper with her Veterinarian, Dr. Luke Jones and his vet techs who performed her last surgery.. Everyone there has treated Harper with such care and was so patient with her. Dr. Jones is the son of Dr. Southard Jones who started the Red Lion Veterinary Hospital over 30 years ago. We have been there with many of our dogs and cats for almost that long.
On our way home and for the first time we took her to a pet store. She sniffed everything and ran from shelf to shelf and there was no sign of incontinence. Her veterinarian says that most of Harper's health issues she was born with have been taken of now and we will follow up with urine analysis from time to time for a while.
We are so happy and grateful for everyone who helped Harper during this long journey. The support we have received was overwhelming!
THANKS TO EVERYONE HARPER WILL HAVE A GOOD LIFE!"
