Please advise, I am in
Dalton Ga, having come this far from Florida, and I am really concerned about route I 75, through
Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Lexington.

Any one know this area? We are picking up a four year old in Cincinnati on Monday.

I have driven this area many times.  I am from the Cincinnati area and lived in FL for 10 years.  Now I'm back here.  What are your concerns?  Also, are you picking up for the DRC?  Just curious as there is a gentleman (Dane) coming from Georgia on Monday, to arrive in the Cincinnati area on Tuesday am to pick up Honey to take her to Dallas.  It is a shame that somehow we can't coordinate this to save him some hours on the road.

Not sure what your concern is, unless you are talking about construction in areas slowing you down.  I live in Knoxville and have driven his route to Cincinnati a lot over the years, as that is where my husband is from.  Also used to live in Pensacola and drove the entire route you are talking about.  Knoxville will not be an issue for you.  If anything....Chattanooga seems to always have construction going on that could slow you down.  :O  Just don't go through during peak hours.  The interstate from Knoxville to Cincinnati is a breeze.  Once you get to close to Cincy, however, it can be very busy, depending on what part of town you are meeting at.  If possible...meet in Northern Kentucky and avoid downtown.

Thank you both for responding to my inquiry. I was honestly concerned about driving through the mountains,
I am from Florida and am not used to ups and downs and steep drop offs, other than bridges over the ocean.
Silly me, the drive was beautiful and I managed to stay away from the edges where it looked deep.
We are now in Mason, Ohio awaiting tomorrow to meet the newest member of the family.
also sorry for not connecting with the DRC but only have room in the car for the one dog.

Again, thank you very much for your responses.

Sally, are you adopting the dog yourself?

We will want to see pictures of your new baby!   Give a shout out as you pass through Knoxville on your way home.  I will hear you!

Sally -- Look forward to seeing pictures of your New Family Member!

Congratulations on your newest family member!!! I look forward to seeing pictures =:-) Have a safe trip home!

Home at last!  We greatly appreciate your responses about our trip to Cincinnati, .  Over the river and through the mountains, to get a dog for my daughter.  Our, actually my, concern was the terrain and the fact that I am not used to anything over than small hills to drive on.  Guess I'm just a big chicken when thinking about driving in mountainous territory and as we looked up the route it showed the Cumberland Gap and my heart sank!

It was not too bad, just once or twice coming down a steep grade with an 18 wheeler too close behind.  Other than that the trip was beautiful.

My daughter's new dog is an almost four year old, apricot, standard poodle that had to find a new home.  He will be in a wonderful home now and he is a beautiful, sweet boy.  My daughter is very luckly, and so is he.

Thanks again for all your helpful responses, and Debi and Monty Moose, hope you heard our shout!   ; )

WE HEARD YOU!!!!  :)  Glad you are home safely and I know how thrilled your daughter and "her new son" must be!

Can't wait to see photos of your DD's new boy!
