How many of your doodles love to play fetch?  Millie is 6 months old, and I think that was one of the very first things I taught her..However, now I'm wondering if that was a good thing!  She CONSTANTLY wants to play fetch and is bringing me her ball.  I know you are not suppose to let them initiate play, but it's too hard to resist.  UGH.....   I am so tired of being interrupted with a doodle at my feet and a ball in her mouth though..LOL..

Can you relate???

Lucy use to like to play fetch, although she wasn't too keen on dropping the ball. These days she really has no desire to fetch at all. She prefers to run after Oscar who LOVES to play fetch. He's real good about dropping it at your feet too, and if it rolls away he'll get it and drop it again a little closer. He's kind of ball obsessed, but he's getting better about taking a cue if you don't want to be interrupted.

Picco loves to play ball. He has man but has his preference for the game and if you toss a different one he will go back to get the particular ball he wants to play with.  He'll press it into my lap if I'm not paying attention. Luckily, if he gets ignored (hard to do) he'll roll around on the floor and play with his toys by himself which is awfully cute too.

If I take him outside to the school yard to play I keep his 6' lead on him. He's so focused on playing that he hasn't attempted to run away.

Luckily for us, Darwin is too lazy for fetch most of the time. I did teach him when he was younger but it's always been kind of a "when I want to I will, and that won't be very often". For the most part when he's indoors he's like a big furry rug. Being couch potatoes, it suits us just fine. :-)

If you want to help her be entertained, perhaps try a kong filled with plain yogurt and frozen. Darwin can work on one of those for 20-30 minutes.
