My first night with Dougie was not bad...knock on wood!  I do not know if it was the long car ride, but he slept through the night, from 10:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.--Whoo hoo!!!!  Poor fella fell asleep on the central air vent, which seems to be his favorite place to snooze.  I also found out that he doesn't like ANY of the "comfy" crate blankets/pillows that I purchased for his crates.   I picked him up and put him in his crate--I camped out on the couch so that I could be close by if necessary.  He whimpered for a second.  I placed his "Snuggle Puppy" in with him and MAGIC...not another sound until 6 a.m.   Needless to say, I do not see an expensive dog bed in Dougie's future. Ditto for the toys.  I purchased a few new toys and his toy of preference is a "white hand towel".

No accidents in the house yet.  However, I can not take credit for that.  I failed to take Dougie out after his morning nap and when I turned around to look for him, he was standing in the un-used "make-shift" litter box taking a potty break.  Pee on carpet averted, thanks to Dougie.

Something tells me that he will have more energy today so I plan to be ready.  Here are a few more pics:

Good Dougie, such cute pictures.

These photos are adorable! Glad his first night went so well!

So cute. He must have been really tired after the ride. I really love his color.

Adorable photos!  Glad to hear the first night went well!  That Snuggle Puppy was worth everyone of those $35.00 wasn't it!  AnnaBelle still sleeps with hers.  Our girls liked the vents when they were puppies as well ... word of caution though.  Once you put an ID tag on him you will need to be very careful.  Our Sophie (and others on here) have gotten the tags caught in the vents and then when they try and get up ... it is a scary experience for them, and then you.  We swapped our vents (which were like yours) out for others that have smaller varied size holes that aren't as easy to catch a tag in.  Enjoy your first day at home and keep those photos coming!

Thanks for sharing this information.  I will make sure that I remove his ID tag.

We have nylon adjustable collars with attached name plates, so no dangle tags. Once they are grown, I plan to get a rolled leather collar with engraved name and phone number on the buckle.
Thank You! It's about time. I've waited and waited ( about 20 hours) for an update with Pics! LOL
So demanding we Doodle Adicts are.
Beautiful. Please update HOURLY

LOL!!!!  Thanks Joanne.  I am trying to spare the DK community because you know that I am super excited about Dougie and would post EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR if I could.  Lucky for you all I suck at taking photos...  :)

I can't get AnnaBelle to sit still long enough to take a photo that isn't just a blurr!

I agree, I want more Dougie updates!!!

Sounds wonderful and he is gorgeous.

Wonderful pictures. We have lots of cool Doodles here who love the air vents and shun all expensive soft bedding. Just a warning re the air vents. If he has a collar and disc on they can get stuck in the vent and cause a terrible accident. I seem to remember a few near misses in posts from the past here. The Boomerang tags lie flat onto the collars and for an air-vent lover might be a safer option.
