First Night...

My first night with Dougie was not bad...knock on wood!  I do not know if it was the long car ride, but he slept through the night, from 10:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.--Whoo hoo!!!!  Poor fella fell asleep on the central air vent, which seems to be his favorite place to snooze.  I also found out that he doesn't like ANY of the "comfy" crate blankets/pillows that I purchased for his crates.   I picked him up and put him in his crate--I camped out on the couch so that I could be close by if necessary.  He whimpered for a second.  I placed his "Snuggle Puppy" in with him and MAGIC...not another sound until 6 a.m.   Needless to say, I do not see an expensive dog bed in Dougie's future. Ditto for the toys.  I purchased a few new toys and his toy of preference is a "white hand towel".  

No accidents in the house yet.  However, I can not take credit for that.  I failed to take Dougie out after his morning nap and when I turned around to look for him, he was standing in the un-used "make-shift" litter box taking a potty break.  Pee on carpet averted, thanks to Dougie.  

Something tells me that he will have more energy today so I plan to be ready.  Here are a few more pics:

Thanks for the warning.  I will look into the Boomerang tags.  This may be a perfect option until I invest in a nicer collar with his name engraved on the it.

These pictures are just adorable! He is such a cute and SMART little guy! Looks like he has a new BFF. Tara is 4 years old now and still has her stuffie that we gave her on her ride home from the breeder's. It's the only one she hasn't shredded!  Enjoy!!!

congrats on the first night. With how hot it is right now I think I would like to be laying on an ac vent. His color really shows nicely against the light carpet.

These are precious!  He likes the cool for sure!  Quincy has a few cool spots-including the shower floor inside and under trees outside.  I love that Dougie brings his buddy to share his favorite spot!  Enjoy!

So glad the first night went so well.  You may think you suck at pictures, but that last one of Dougie and his 'pet' is simply priceless!  So cute that he's found his special place.  :)   Such a cute puppy!

I ordered it from Amazon.  I slept with it for 2 nights so that it would have my scent.  I did not use the "heart" beat function or heating pouch.  He loves it all the same.

Your Dougie is just precious!  I absolutely love the photo of him on the vent with his snuggle buddy!!  It looks like two stuffed doggies!  You must be so in love with him!!  Keep those photos coming!!
