First Night...

My first night with Dougie was not bad...knock on wood!  I do not know if it was the long car ride, but he slept through the night, from 10:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.--Whoo hoo!!!!  Poor fella fell asleep on the central air vent, which seems to be his favorite place to snooze.  I also found out that he doesn't like ANY of the "comfy" crate blankets/pillows that I purchased for his crates.   I picked him up and put him in his crate--I camped out on the couch so that I could be close by if necessary.  He whimpered for a second.  I placed his "Snuggle Puppy" in with him and MAGIC...not another sound until 6 a.m.   Needless to say, I do not see an expensive dog bed in Dougie's future. Ditto for the toys.  I purchased a few new toys and his toy of preference is a "white hand towel".  

No accidents in the house yet.  However, I can not take credit for that.  I failed to take Dougie out after his morning nap and when I turned around to look for him, he was standing in the un-used "make-shift" litter box taking a potty break.  Pee on carpet averted, thanks to Dougie.  

Something tells me that he will have more energy today so I plan to be ready.  Here are a few more pics:

And so it begins....what a wonderful start for Dougie.  I so respect all the work you've done to educate yourself to get ready for this new little "bundle of Doodle joy".  I know this story will continue to emerge and I'm anxious to watch this little guy grow.

Dougie is adorable and it sounds like he did great. My dogs hated blankets in their crates. They got too hot. Fudge had the same Snuggle Puppy and used to come out of her crate every morning carrying it with her :) Enjoy your puppy!

Hey I like dougie toy and read great reviews on it I went and order Kash a snuggle puppy !!!! I hope they are good for an almost 7month old baby:))))) hope all is still going well, I bet your daughter will be doing the spoiling!:))) have a good night
