We found this puppy in the middle of the road in a very rural area last weekend. He was very thin and had fleas. He was in an area where we have seen foxes and hawks. We can't imagine how he got there other than someone must have put him out on the side of the road. We weighs just 3 lbs. We have taken him to the vet for shots, worming and to get rid of the fleas. Does anyone know what kind of dog he might be?
We went to the only two houses within a mile of where we found him to see if he was theirs. No one claimed him. We are now looking for a good home for him. We have six pets already (3 dogs and 3 cats) and don't feel we have time to train a puppy at this time. We have several people interested in him. Our other pets do not like him. Lots of growling and hissing going on.
He is very cute. I hope we find a home for him before we get too attached.

If we don't change our mind and keep him, he is going to my sister in Salisbury, North Carolina. The vet we use offered to show him on their tv segment "Pets and Vets" that is on a local channel to try to find him a home but we are afraid that he might not get a good home that way so we turned them down.
That little puppy is precious and I love the way he follows the Doodle around:)
awww!
He is such a little sweetie. I think he may be a Yorkie Poo, he looks just like one I met at the pet store. I can't imagine anyone being so cruel as to dump this precious little one.
Thank you for having him Vetted, did the Vet give you his opinion on the breed at all?
The vet said he is about nine weeks old and may be a terrier/shih tzu mix. I don't think he is shih tzu. He doesn't have the flat face.
I don't know if the little video works or not. I was having trouble getting it to load.
His little face looks alot like my daughter's maltese she was a puppy (the maltese, not my daughter!). He is so cute in both the pictures and the video! Bless you for saving him from all the things that could have hurt him!
What a good deed you have done! He is simply darling.
The picture and video are both great! I love how he's following Max around. Thanks for saving him! He is adorable, and I agree with the others that said it looks like there's some yorkie in there.
Wow--adorable!!He will be easy to place in a new home for sure--please continue to take such good care of him by making sure the new family is the right one for him.
Puppies of the fluffy dogs tend to look very similar at this young an age--you may have to wait a while to see what he is, but I am guessing he is a terrier mix--like maybe some yorkie.
OMD, he is a doll....love that little tongue. Bless you for caring....I'm sure you saved his life.
The video is so cute--now that I have seen his whole body, I am thinking yorkie mix for sure--the ears and body type seem to be similar to that--good luck and thank you for taking him in!!
