Funny hair regrowth post shaving

I posted previously about Dexter's knee surgery (February) and subsequent slow hair regrowth on his butt (his entire leg and half his butt was shaved - leg hair regrew normally).  His butt hair is definitely growing now, but it's coming in a medium darkish brown!!  I tease that he's now a parti doodle.  

Has anyone ever seen something like this happen?  I don't care it's brown, but it just seems so strange!!

P.S. His knee is a lot better...he still limps (especially by the end of the day), but I think it's about time we start letting him try to be normal.

Daisy had a very small spot on her rear quarter that we said was from her "black goldendoodle Mom", it was the size of a quarter, I looked the other day and now it's gone after 21 months - weird.

I love that caramel color on his rear, it's very different looking.

My Chase had a reaction to his annual vaccinations and the hair fell out around where they did the shot.  He had a penny sized bald patch for a few months.  I just clipped him for the summer and noticed that the hair is now growing back in that area but it is totally different colour.  The rest of him is cafe, and this spot is dark dark chocolate - the colour his puppy coat was!!

Strange!  I'd never heard of this happening.  He looks like such a sweet (now parti) guy.
