Here is a game we have been playing with our doodles and they both love it. We actually designed this for our miniature poodle thirty years ago in Germany. We had a bad steak dinner after he had snuck into the hotel by the fire escape. We cut up the steak and hid it all over the room and told him to "go getum". He found the ones in our shoes, on the drain pipe under the sink, on the picture frame above the bed, etc. We never forgot that game and have started playing it with our doodles on the deck. First step, take them out on the deck (individually of course) and have them sit and stay while you hide the treats. They watch you and then go to get the treats (we use pieces of pancakes). After they have that down, they can stay in the house while you hide the treats and then tell them to go getum. It is like an Easter egg hunt with kids. Try it, it is really fun for people and doodles.

I do this with toys--I have the dog stay in one room, while I hide her toy or toys in another room--her command is "Go find it!". She loves the game and the treats that come to her when she successfully finds the toys. She will start dropping her toy at my feet when she wants to play this game.
Very cute idea - thanks!
Great idea! We can always use new games to stimulate minds and burn energy.
We do thhis too, in the house, with treats. Boy, Toby can really get that sniffer going and finds his treat everytime. We just do one at a time in our version and he does not get to see where we are hiding the treat. It's good to have new games to play with our doodles so thanks for the cool suggestion!
I do this with one special donut like toy and we call it gofindit. Molly brings the toy and drops it in your lap when she want to play which is 7 oclock every night.
