Rosco seemed fine once he got there according to Clark, but he freaked me out in the past hour.  He was acting like he was either going to barf or scoot his butt, but it was neither.  Although I couldn't see anything weird going on in his belly it was like there was a heavy weight somewhere low in his abdomen and he couldn't stand up. I immediately feared bloat.   I kept calling his name, panicked.  Then he got up but his legs weren't quite on board and he only managed to turn around and walk a few steps...and he ended up on laying down on his belly again...eyes made him look zoned and drooled a bit. Tail continued to wag though...super odd.  By the time Clark emptied out the back of his Volvo, he got up and looked ready to go outside on his own, but Clark picked him up and rushed him to the vet.  Apparently he was back to normal by then but they are observing him.

At first I thought bloat but his zoned look toward the end sounded seizure like...but neither fit what I'd imagine them to look like.  Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

Send some prayers his way!  Hoping it was a weird nothing.

Okay just heard from the vet before I hit the button to post.  She said that everything checked out fine and the only thing the blood work showed was that his electrolytes were off...as though he'd recently been barfing.  He had eaten lunch in the past hour but I have no idea if he may have thrown up outside..he seemed fine when I'd called him in not long before the episode.  So she wants to watch him more and give him some anti nausea meds to keep him from throwing up more and messing up his electrolytes further.  Thanks for thinking of Rosco!

Paws crossed it is nothing!! Nothing scarier than one of our 2 or 4 legged kids not being 'right' and not know what is going on!!

Lots of good thoughts coming your way.

Hope he continues to be fine and is home with you soon.

Glad to hear that it looks like everything is going to be okay.  : )

Oh my. Sending big prayers your way. What a scare. I know you will keep us posted. Seems strange that just one or two episodes of vomiting would throw off electrolytes that significantly, especially since you didn't know for sure if he even had. These doodles, they sure keep us on our collective toes.

Thinking of Rosco and hoping this is nothing and passes quickly.

The behaving as if he's going to either barf or butt-scoot is common in IBD dogs, but I'm sure that's not the case with Rosco, you would have seen other GI issues before that.

Paws & fingers crossed that he's fine and home soon!

Adina, I am so glad Rosco seems ok now. How scary. Keep us posted.

So glad it was not too serious. It was scary!

Oh, I'm sorry...you must have been so scared.  That sure is a strange episode.  I sure hope this is the end of it and he's back home with you tonight.

Thinking about Rosco and hoping he is back home with you very soon.

Oh no!  We are sending hugs to you all and hope Rosco is back to tip top shape soon.  Side note; could he have eaten something strange outside?

Sending good thoughts that this is nothing and that he will be totally well soon.
