Halas is Framed!!
I picked up the framed portrait today. I picked up the portrait about 5 weeks ago, but it took me until last weekend to pick out a frame. The frame came in today, so here it is...
Inside with a flash and outside with natural light.
It was tough to pick out a frame. If the frame was much darker than this one, it started to blend with the dark background at the top of the picture. If it was much lighter than this one, it started to blend with Halas' coat. I think this frame struck a nice balance. The background looks great against it, Halas' coat colors really pop against it, and the burl in the wood helps bring out his eyes and nose. I'm glad it worked out, because I think the painting is just wonderful, and I wanted a frame that would display that. Since it's hard to tell from the photos, the painting is about 11 x 14, and with the frame, it's about 15 x 18.
