Can I just say it? "NOOOO!!"

This is Harley's 3rd round of meds in the 3 months we've had him, so I guess we didn't get everything back in June when he tested positive.

<Sigh>

At least this time, he's on Panacur.

I've washed his bedding and his toys. Sprayed down his crate and his water bowl tray and holder.

I'm now wiping things down with clorox wipes until I can mop everything with a clorox solution.

I told my hubby about the advice here about wiping down Harley's paws and butt...no sure he'll do that. (some sort of man-thing, perhaps.)

Well, I guess I didn't =really= want a restful weekend. LOL!

Well Terri, if it makes you feel any better, I have two yards, two homes and two dogs to constantly clean up after, so see, it could be worse! And I hear ya, I want to cry just thinking about doing it all over again.

Well, cyber hugs to you, Murphy and Bella.

Terri (handing you cyber-Clorox)

:)

I think I need more clorox, so good!!!

I know my day care center requires a clean bill of health for all dogs who are going to be starting there and they would need to be off the medications for the two weeks and have a negative fecal. Moose was treated for giardia when he came home with two rounds of meds, we never got a positive result but one of his litter mates was diagnosed with it shortly after pick up day and Moose had lots of soupy poop. Anywho- Loki was also being treated with the same two rounds because he started to get semi runny poop. I couldn't bring him to day care for almost two months because he had one round of Panacur, wait three weeks, then round two, wait two weeks then re test with a fecal and then he finally could go back to daycare. Long chunk of time with two hyper and "pent up" dogs!

Yes, the day camp won't take him without a 2 week wait with a med clearance that states he tested negative.

He's just going a bit cabin crazy. And so am I. No puppy training class, no doggie day care. No play dates. I am still picking up poop and working in disinfecting the floors and he'll look at me an whine.

Tomorrow I need to interview some dog walkers or I will be calling out all week.

And I think we're getting on each others nerves.

Terri and Harley

Oh no! If you do get a dog walker I would make sure they are on board with the clean up process too! That way you don't have to go through this whole thing again!

We've had our bouts of Giardia, so I totally understand how you feel. It's so hard to diagnose if the poop does not show the "stuff" there. But Panacur worked well for us. The vet always prescribed metro..., but I order Panacur on Amazon and keep it handy. Hope this will be the last time for you and Harley. It's no fun....for you or him. Hugs to you both.

Argg! I caught Harley trying to eat deer poop!

Seriously, dog?

Terri

I know Terri!  I can't hardly take mine for a walk without Bella trying to stop to scoop up a tasty mouthful of deer poop.

You can get Panacur online? Do you need a prescription? I have to get some! I don;t need a fecal or exam to know she has giardia again, and just was taking her in for the panacur.

Yes, you can get it on Amazon. I had no idea!! I ordered it already! My vet charged me $10.00/per dose!! A 6 day regimen? $60.00!!!!

On Amazon...LESS than $30.00!

Tomorrow I am interviewing new vets.

Terri

Oh wow this is good to know in case I have to do this again, the emergency vet wanted to charge we $254 dollars for Loki's dose so I waited two days to go to my regular vet and they still charged me $80. Moose's were less since he weighed less but still the prices add up!
