He's a DOODLE! What breeds do people mistake your doodle for?

Wherever we go, people ask me what breed of dog Duncan is. I think a lot of folks have an image that comes to mind when they think of a labradoodle, and my Dood (with his black, straight-ish fur) apparently does not fit the description :). When people ask what breed he is and make a guess, they come up with the following:

Irish Wolf Hound -65% of guesses
Portuguese Water Dog - 20% of guesses
Labradoodle - 10% of guesses
Giant Schnauzer 5% of guesses

Ok, so I personally think the Giant Schnauzer and Water Dog are a bit of a stretch, but a lot of people do think he is an Irish Wolf Hound. I am curious - what breeds do people mistake your doodle for?

The funniest comment I got for my red LD who is quite short (having inherited mini-poodle legs from her dad) is "Is that a Golden Retriever puppy?" Everyone thinks she is a puppy and she is nearly 6 years old! People think my cream ALD is a wheaten--and I had a Wheaten once and there is a slight resemblance! The black and white doodle is more often confused with a border collie, but only by people who do not really know what a border collie looks like--the colors are the same but the coat is very different. I can't believe someone thought a doodle was a Bedlington terrier--I had one of those too way back when and there is really no resemblance!

Cooper is big--29 1/2 inches at his Shoulders, and 110 lbs and not any Fat on him.  People usually ask if He is an Irish Wolfhound, or Sheep Dog.  When I tell them He is a Goldendoodle, they practically accuse me of lying and say thing like "He can't be a Goldendoodle, He is too big!"

People always think bender is a sheep dog or golden doodle. Boy does he catch people's attention.
No one really guesses Zoe. I think because she small and black so people assume she's a mix. They do love her personality and start asking about her after she wins them over with her charm. Haha

Because of Tanner's coloring we get a lot of Portuguese Water Dog guesses and Labradoodle. When I tell them he's a goldendoodle, I always get the reaction of "I didn't know they came in different colors!" That always makes me laugh because I think of an article of clothing "coming in different colors"....not a dog. haha

Most people correctly guess both Maggie & Bexter as goldendoodles.  I think since they are becoming more popular, people pretty much know what they "should" look like.  A few people will ask if Bexter is a goldendoodle or poodle because he is pretty curly.
