Do you let your doodles ride with their head out the window? Darwin loves to do this, and he seems to be a lot more antsy when the windows are not down. He is always harnessed in but an still easily reach the window to put his head out. Sometimes I worry that the car will kick a rock up into his face or something, although this has never happened. Do you allow your dog to do this? Do you think it's too risky to be worth it?
That was only the second time I put them on her. She started pawing at them but then she saw her tennis ball in my hand and she forgot all about the goggles...which also means she could see through them!
Oh my...after reading all of your posts...I'm thinking that maybe I'm just an overprotective Mom...(smile)
No...Sasha Does Not Do This...
One of our cars is a convertable...and she doesn't ride in that car...and she always rides in the backseat..."Safely" secured...windows up...and...she is"Perfectly" Happy...
I think...like with Kyoko and F...she is a Very Happy and Contented Dood...and she doesn't know that she is missing anything!
Shhhhhhh...let's NOT tell her...
Thanks!! (smile)
On the other hand...if it were up to DH...he would have her in the front seat of the convertable...Hopefully Secured ...Hair Blowing in the Wind...going Fast and Taking the Turns with the Best of Them!!
Oh Yes!! Sasha would then know a Very Different Way To..." Ride...Baby Ride"!! Lol...
I have already been worn down by my 2 adult (or almost adult) sons and their dad.
Murphy's only option to go anywhere is in my 2 seater convertible.
I do, however, refuse to let him ride in his brother's jeep. They have, however, taken him on the jetski with mom nervously watching....all 99lbs of him.
Letting your pet hang his head out the window or being transported in the back of a pick up truck is one of my pet peeves. The chance of any object or dirt reaching my pets eyes is not worth the risk..You woudn't let your child hang their arms out the window let alone their head!!! Think about it the next time you get a stone chip in your wind sheild..
You are right, it is dangerous and probably not worth the risk. However I don't think any of us are allowing them to do it solely because "It looks cute"
I am sorry for my choice of wording - I was thinking of all the times I have seen dogs on TV with their heads out the window. I do realize that no one does this for the "cute" look. I wish our dogs didn't love this behaviour. Just want our dogs to be safe.
