Hello DK'ers :)

 

I'm Katie and I have a 16 week old Labradoodle (first time doodle owner - he's also my first boy doggie) named Sgt. Pepper.  I have three other dogs as well.  I got my baby Sgt. Pepper from a breeder in Sacramento, CA (not sure if I am allowed to post the breeder's name, so I'll leave that blank for now). He's the most wonderful guy in the world!  I looooooooove my doodleboy so very much!!

 

I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I'm a self-employed local small business owner.  If anyone lives in the Ft. Lauderdale or Miami/Boca area, send me a message.  Sarge and I would love to meet some doodle playmates!

 

Sgt. Pepper broke his leg trying to be Evel Knievel by jumping off the back of a couch a few weeks ago.  He had surgery and now is completely recovered.  He just needs to grow his beautiful hair back now!

We have two Dodles and often go to the Pompano Dog Park on US 1 at tenth street,  also we have a South Florida Doodle Meet up Club with about 40 Doodles in it and try to meet once a month. We have info on our group on Doodlekisses and a page on Facebook. ( South Florida Doodle Meet up Group) We post info on both pages. I believe there is a Meet up this Sunday at Hollywood Beach that permits the Doodles to run loose on the Beach and swim. Please meet us there. All well behaved breeds are welcome to join us.

Oh I am totally going to look into this.  Unfortunately, Sgt.  Pepper is still not allowed to frolic and play freely. I let him roam around the house and in my back yard, but aside from that he's not allowed unsupervised play time yet.  His next vet appointment is on the 22nd, he'll be getting follow-up x-rays to see that his leg is healing properly and in place.  The vet said after that he should have the ok to play with other dogs, etc. :)

 

He'll also be getting his 16 week shots and rabies shot tomorrow.  I can't wait to be able to take him to a dog park! :)

He is a cutie-this scares me because my younger mini ALWAYS jumps off the back of the couch and we cannot get her to stop! She's jumping around like a cat and she's 3 Glad he is doing better!

Yea, it was more of a freak accident than anything else since it was his hind leg.  He broke the impact of his fall with his front legs then one of his hind legs didn't settle properly, sort of like a human rolling their ankle.  Luckily, he's really young and has healed very quickly.  He only had the cast on for a week and then his stitches came out a week later.
