About a week ago Cocoa peed on the couch (about the 5th time she has done this).  Once I found it, (because I think it sat for 30 minutes or more before I found it) I cleaned it with the spot bot then sprayed enzyme odor remover pet spray on it.  My family room still smells like pee :(    I think it got deep into the couch because I moved the couch out and smelt the carpet and it also smelt like pee.  I got the carpet cleaner out and cleaned the carpet too.  Still really smells and I don't know what to do????   I even re cleaned the couch last night and still smells.   Our couch is one that you can not take the coushion's off its all attached, or I would take the covers off and hose the foam off outside.

Any suggestions or am I just stuck with this pee smelling family room?    This dog has very dark strong smelling urine.

Can you just pour Nature's Miracle onto the couch and the carpet and let it self dry?  Or a vinegar solution?   Or can you drag your couch into the sunshine and see if that helps or combine the Nature's Miracle and the sunshine?  Those would be my only suggestions.  If you feed your dog kibble, I would add water to it to see if you can get more hydration for our doodle.

If it were my last ditch effort to save the couch and carpet, dump lots of Natures Miracle on, let it soak all the way thru.  It would be best if you had a dehumidifier to have running next to it.  Short of that, turn a good fan on blowing on the couch, day and night.  You want to dry the wetness as fast as possible.

I ran out of natures miracle :(  Need to find a chance to get more.

No chance of new couch or carpet we cant afford it.. so its get the smell out or have stinky couch :(

With 2 small children and a puppy it would be stupid to get a new couch right now anyway.

I will grab some NM and poor it on and then try vinegar.

The other possibility is to carefully open the couch seat (at a seam) and clean what you can and then resew the seat,

I agree with the others, you need a jug of Nature's Miracle and you need to really pour it on and saturate the areas of the carpet and sofa so that it soaks through to the padding and the foam in the sofa. Everywhere the urine soaked through, the Nature's Miracle has to soak through, too.

I had this problem as well in an area on my rug....nothing worked not even Advanced Natures Miracle... What did work is taking equal parts white vinegar with water equal parts water..... Saturate the area very very well. When it is almost dry pour baking soda on that....the add hydrogen peroxide with a tablespoon of non caustic dish soap and put it over baking soda ....let it sit for a good while....whe dry vacuum it up.

It was the only hing that worked for me I found it on the Internet after spending over $100.00 on everything I could thing of over the counter

Do you have a Stanley Steemer in your area.  I have found that whatever it is they use as deodorizer when they clean the carpets really works.  They also do furniture, so I'm assuming it would be just as effective.

My Oliver peed on my couch once when he was a baby, I also freaked.  The best and only thing that worked for me was what Andrea Johnson posted.  The mixture with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, dish detergent, etc. etc.   I followed the directions exactly and I also did this on a beautiful sunny day and no humidity.  Once I made the paste I put the cusion outside and let it bake in the sun.  When the sun went down I brushed off the mixture which dryed and then I vacuumed the cushion and no me smell.  This works wonders and don't be afraid to load it up on your cushion.  The smell is totally gone.  Good luck.. this stuff works !!!

Bartleby wazzed in the car about  month ago, and it took me a few tries--Nature's Miracle, spot-cleaner, baking soda to soak it up, etc.--before I called out all stops and removed my car seat to saturate the half that was stankin' in a large bucket with a white vinegar/water solution. Obviously you can't do that if the seats don't detch, but what essentially worked for me was to saturate the inside of the cushion like it was a huge sponge, and then squeeze it out, patting the excess vinegr/water/pee with one of our dog towels. I put a fan on it and within a few days it was dry and unsmelly. Baking soda helped it dry, too, and there was no discolortion, surprisingly. Upholstery experts can probably remove and reattach the seat if worse comes to worst.

A friend of mine who owns a Bed and Breakfast introduced me to using plain club soda to neutralize urine stain and odor on furniture and carpet.  I use the cheapest club soda I can find and it seems to work pretty well even after the fizz has left it, so I can store the soda I have not used.  I usually buy the club soda in a screw cap bottle rather than in a can because it is easier to store the left over when it is in a bottle.

I think that the chemical action of the club soda is a lot like that of baking soda...

I pour it on the urine affected area liberally and blot it up with paper towel and then let it dry. Using the club soda liberally seems to be the ticket.  It doesn't seem to stain furniture or carpet.  Letting it dry in the sun seems to help furniture.  I have only worked with this when the urine is still wet and cannot vouch for the efficiency in treating dried urine residue.

However, if it doesn't work for your dried urine, at least you won't be out of a lot of money...

I had heard several years ago that Nature's Miracle was bought out by another company and they changed their product. Ever since I haven't bothered with the product.

I use something called Unique and have had great sucess. My dog peed on his bed and on our rental carpet several times during the house break period. His bed was the most frequent target. So I took the cover off, mixed up the said solution, soaked the areas that were peed on, put the whole thing in a lawn and leaf bag, sealed it and left it for a minimum of 24 hours. Then I threw the cover in the wash, hung to dry and never smelled a thing.

Recently a friend had their dog get skunked then went directly to her bed, got the smell on the bed. The unique got the smell out again.

Thank you for the suggestions Its get so busy around here today is my first change to try something.

I just too Vinager & Oxyclean & water and dumped a ton of it in the couch. I took my hand and squished the cushion down in hopes it would suck it in better.   So I will wait a couple days and see of that does anything then move onto another solution.

If i could just take the cushion off this would be so much easier.
