Camus got hold of a blue gel ink pen and within no time he had blue ink all over his face, tongue, paws. I called his vet and they said not to worry as long as he had not ingested any of the pen. He did not, but now how do I clean him up? Any suggestions?

Right isopropyl alcohol. And wash it off.
He looks great in blue!  I had a husky that chewed up a pink hi-liter once, so his white paws and face were bright pink for awhile.  Do you have any greeting cards to sign?  Maybe Camus could just put his inky paw print on them.

lol  What a cutey!

I hope your carpets stay clean.  I suspect Porter has had blue on him too...I've certainly found the mangled pens.  I just never saw ink on his dark coloring.

this is what I was going to suggest too - hydrogen peroxide

I wondered this too.
I don't see any reason you couldn't use alcohol wipes on his paws and around his mouth and then just rinse it off. You might not get all the ink off but some would be removed. You could even dip his paws in a little deep bowl of alcohol and then just wast them off.

Smurf Doodle!!!

Bandit chewed a pen once, it was black and so is he so not sure it was on him,  but it did leave ink all over our carpet.  So a google search later I used rubbing alcohol, so you could try that but it will require quite a bit! And a key is to blot, not rub!!

Ruh Roh...silly Camus...very funny!
Thank you for all of the suggestions!  We are at work (Lab) so I am going to get some alcohol wipes for now and then clean him up good when we get home.  And, wouldn't you know it -- he just had a bath...
I say just leave it, not many people have blue dogs. What a novelty...
This is gonna sound strange, but you might try the peel of a banana!  I used to buy a cleaner from one of the shopping channels that was made with banana oil and it worked wonders.  One time when we were camping, I had a pen that leaked in my pocket and made a stain and I didn't have the cleaner with me, but I had bananas.   I remembered that they said the cleaner was made from the skins, so I peeled a couple and started rubbing the stain.   It took a while, but it finally got most of the stain.  For sure, I don't think it would hurt Camus.
Christine...that is just way too cute.  Camus looks so cute and unique with his blue paws and face.  It will be quite an attention getter for your shy boy.  Maybe I will see him at Costco when I go!!!!  I really did have to chuckle when I saw the adorable face with the blue on it!
