Do you have any canned pumpkin in the house (not pie filling...just plain pumpkin)? If you do, you could give them some of that with their food. Normally I do a bland home cooked meal in these situations, but if you're off to work, I'm sure that's not possible. I sure hope they feel better.
It sounds like there may be a parasite if all three pets in the same household developed diarrhea at the same time. I'd have fecals done ASAP.
Any chance the dogs are getting into the litter box?
OMD! That's horrible. It does sound like they all have the same thing. I wouldn't think this would be a coicidence. Yep...I agree with Karen! Call the vet & send in poop samples. Good luck.
If my doodles have a case of the runny poops in the morning, I will not feed them before I go to work because I don't want them pooping in the crate. I do come home for lunch and if they seem OK, I will give a very small handfull of their kibble. Then I will feed them at their 6 p.m. feeding time.
Could your pets gotten into something? Usually when either one of my doodles has the poops its becuase them got into something in the back yard.
If it's all 3 I'd be concerned enough to call the vet a.s.a.p. Hope all is ok and they feel better, keep us posted. Good luck!
this is so weird, I had Oliver at the vet today too for diarrhea, and he threw up this am. It started about 3 days ago, and I thought he might have eaten something outside that was causing the problem, so I cooked up white meat chicken in low sodium no fat chicken broth, and have been giving him that and cooked white rice with a few pieces of his reg food twice a day and a tablespoon of pumpkin. Well it got a little better, he started with sort of formed poops, and then watery by the finish. This am he threw up his entire breakfast. I kind of attributed it to the fact that on Mon, he was getting a hot spot, and it looked pretty rough, so I started him on the antibiotic that he has taken in the past for it. But the day after I started the antibiotic, he started with the diarrhea, so we stopped that. This am I took him to the vet, and he did a stool culture, and looked at the stool under the microscope. Nothing there, but he gave him a shot for the diarrhea, and gave me some meds for it to give him twice a day, he felt it was a gastritis, he checked and he had this last year around this same time????...I wonder if it is something he is ingesting from the area where we walk him, which is my front yard???...Anyway he has been his happy self, eating and drinking, until this am when he threw up. I just gave him dinner, and he scarfed it down. The vet said keep up with the chicken, rice and a little pumpkin, and a little bit of his reg. food. He just pooped, after dinner, looked ok till the end, then some loose mess....I am wondering if there is a virus or something that is affecting our dogs and cats???..Hope that yours are al getting better soon....
