Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am making this a discussion rather than a blog so I can add information and pictures in a few days.

We are fostering beautiful Bailey, an 11-month old goldendoodle, for doodlerescuecollectiveinc.org.  Her furever parents are coming Thursday to pick her up and bring her to her new home.

Although that is exciting; this in itself would not be any kind of news.  Doodles are frequently finding furever homes through the assistance of Doodle Rescue Collective Inc.  What makes this special for Judy and I is that Bailey's new parents have another doodle, Hailey.  Hailey was born at Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles in Texas.  Holly was born there and Holly and Hailey share the same dad, Rocky, a standard poodle.

We are very anxious to meet two year old Hailey and see her next to our four and a half year old Holly. I want to shoot pictures of the two girls and share them with you.

BTW:  we'd love to meet other owners of Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles.

Can't wait for pics!  WTG Kayla!

I often wonder about posting other than Doodle pictures on Doodlekisses.  But here are pictures of Layla's litter. Unfortunately, we lost the smallest of the puppies, a fawn color.  He was probably the latest puppy conceived and was premature.

BTW:  dogs can conceive puppies all through their fertility cycle which can vary between 5 and 12 days depending on the individual dog.  Gestation normally lasts 9 weeks (63 days). However, puppies may be delivered between 58 and 68 days.  If a female free breeds throughout her cycle, it is quite possible that one or more of the puppies can be delivered prematurely while others in the litter had the advantage of a full gestation.  Anyway, the smallest puppy was not completely developed and had a cleft palate which prevented him from suckling.  Despite bottle feeding him every two hours, we finally lost him.

On the positive side, the other four puppies are strong and active.  Three boys and a girl.  Two brindles and a fawn boy and a lovely black and white female.  Due to the coloring, we suspect that the father or fathers could have been pit bulls.

It will be interesting to see them as they grow; I hope you'll post more photos, I'm sure everyone will enjoy that.

I'm glad mom and four puppies are doing well, and sorry to hear about the one who didn't make it.

Just caught this. It's a wonder if the father's were pit bulls that this little mom was able to deliver these pups.I am sorry you lost the little one. He does look much smaller than his mates. Once again I am amazed at how much time and love you give all these dogs you care for.

Kayla looks like she is being the best mom she can.  I am sorry the little one did not make it.  The rest look healthy though.

What a very nice post Richard. You and Judy are exceptional people to do all you do for so many dogs. I love the picture of Bailey and it sounds like such a happy ending and even happier beginning of her new life. Sorry about the puppy and I found it very interesting that a dog can continue to concieve during their cycle. I never knew that.

The pup does look much younger than the others. Thanks for the pictures! So sweet.

I own a labradoodle from Cheyenne Valley Doodles. He had been rehomed to the breeder. The breeder gives 2 puppies from each litter to someone with an illness or disability. I am battling cancer and I asked if she had an older dog and she did. I got him when he was 8 months old and now he is 13 months old. He is just the sweetest dog.

How cool is that and how fun to get the two of them together:)  Take pictures and share on DK!
