Oh man, what a bill! But at last she is home and feeling better--see how she is with the chicken and rice tomorrow and then try the food again after that--Or did they tell you to wait a while?
You can try cutting the chicken up teeny- tiny and mix it in with the rice so that she can't pick it out, or you can try using mashed sweet potatoes instead of rice- if you mix it well, the chicken will all be blended into the ptoatoes and she won't be able to separate it. You need two parts rice or potatoes to one part chicken. I think if you tried using that much pumpkin, it would be too much fiber, and probably not enough calories.
So glad Allie is home where she belongs. Wow, what a bill!
I'm so glad Allie is home and recovering. Mojo had a 2 week long bout with diarrhea soon after I brought him home at 8 weeks. (I switched his food too soon) The vet prescribed the Prescription food and I foolishly gave it to him, he got worse. I boiled him chicken and cooked rice and he ate it (inhaled it). In a week her poos were normal. You could put it all in a food processor and puree it so Allie can't pick out the rice. I also gave him 1 teaspoon of pumpkin a day and Probiotics.
Hoping Allie is fine and dandy soon. It sounds like she was still a little puny today but that is to be expected after a weekend at the ER vet. ugh. that bill! I have no advice on the food, mine inhale chicken and rice. Just want you to know that I am thinking of you both and hoping for complete healing.
So glad to hear that Allie is home where she belongs. Unless they told you to keep her off her food, I would do the chicken and pumpkin or whatever for a couple of days slowly adding back a bit of her kibble after the first day.
Glad to hear she's home.
Whew! Glad she is back with you. Try using a little bit of chicken stock in the water that you cook the rice. She will likely have a better appetite tomorrow and is more likely to eat everything.
