How did anyone make it from the time you knew your Doodle was born, or from the time you knew you were getting another Doodle...how did you get from that time to the time when you could pick him/her up? My Little Dood is just over 3 weeks old and I have almost 5 weeks until I get to pick him up and take him home, but I do get to meet him in 2-1/2 weeks...

My question is...how the heck do you make it until D-Day (Doodle Day) without going crazy with excitement?

This really is the best idea as there is so much great info on here. I learned to homecook, use Evening Primrose Oil, how to train, how to let my dogs in bed with us without feeling like I was wierd, how to help them when they were sick, help them with loose stools, oh the list goes on and on.
I feel like I need to create a DK spreadsheet or something just to remember all the great advice. Now there's an idea...I am such a type A personality. Mark my words that I will totally create a DK spreadsheet. Did someone say Crazy Dog Lady?
I agree with everybody...plan, plan, plan...read DK, read DK, read DK...shop til ya drop!  However, I did all those things and STILL went crazy with excitement anyway!
I hear ya, Traci!!! :-)

Fortunately, my breeder sends pictures and updates on a WEEKLY basis, so the wait is more bearable :)

Rest of my time is spent reading and shopping for puppy stuff.

Cute puppy, Kimmy!!! How long do you have to go? My breeder sends pics on a weekly basis, too, and I think I even get videos starting next week or the week after, so that is great. It's still so hard to wait though!!!

I didn't know about DK before I had Sasha...so I didn't have the opportunity to spend time here learning all about Doodles...

I spent So many hours on the net...learning all of the How To's!!

How to crate train...how to potty train...how to walk your dog...the best food for your dog...etc...etc...etc...

Thankfully...our breeder posted weekly pictures...and she was really great about communicating and answering questions!

A good friend of mine was getting a Doodle at about the same time...and we talked Doodles...for Hours!!

Waiting for your new Doodle is So Very Hard!

The time goes  S O   S L O W L Y  ! !

Now that Sasha is with us...our lives have never been the same...

Our lives are filled with Doodle Laughter...Doodle Love and DoodleKisses...And We Couldn't Be Happier...

Awww Susan, thanks for sharing your story with me! This will be my second dog (I had a beloved German Shepherd for 12 years), but my first Doodle. I, too, spent countless hours researching the breed and I simply can't wait! My guy is 4 weeks old on Sunday, so I will have 4 more weeks to go until I can get him, but only 2 weeks to go until I meet him! Like you, my breeder has been great about sending me pictures and answering all of my 90 million questions!

I just looked at your pictures. Sasha is ADORABLE!!!!

Puppy arrived over 3 months ago, but I can totally understand how you feel :)
I just looked at your pics. Chewie is adorable!!
One good thing I did was to open a Doodle file on the desktop and every time I came across something that might be useful I saved it and popped it in the file.   I now have a large dossier on anything from doodle hair cut to ear remedies, training methods, crate training advice, emergency medical procedures.... etcc, etc, etc you get the picture.
Nicky - A doodle file on the desktop sounds like a great idea! I have so many Word documents and great links floating around, I should put them all in one place! That is really a fantastic suggestion. Thanks!!!
