Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Do you ever just sit back and ask yourself "how did I get so lucky?"  I find myself asking myself this question all the time. I am a single mom which I look at as a HUGE accomplishment. I own a beautiful house and have a job that I absolutely love and employees that respect and admire me. I do not struggle to take care of my daughter or my dogs. Now, don't get me wrong- we don't live a life of extreme luxury but they do not go without!

My daughters dad and I are great friends and our families are very close. My daughter gets the benefit of being a part of both families as one without being exposed to stress, arguments, etc (her dad and I make great friends- we do not make great partners).

It seemed that luck was also on my side with Goldie.  How did I get so lucky with this doodle? She is the PERFECT dog. Will she always be or is she waiting to bust out of her shell at a different time? Haha

Goldie is incredible with kids. She is so incredible with kids that I've started looking into Therapy Dog programs in my area. I think I'd like to use her as a therapy dog for grieving children. My heart is really being tugged in that direction. Not only is she good with kids, she is incredibly smart, so quick to train, she is very calm and mellow and I have never even heard her bark. My daughter once asked me "is Goldie's barker broken?" HAHA!

These are just a few pictures that are permanently etched into my heart.  Now share some of yours :)

Silverlyn is quite the cutie, but she already had my heart with all those cute posts about what she says ! She and Goldie are going to have a great time growing up together. Your pictures are beautiful Star !

Oh Sheila, I would take up the entire forum just trying to catch you up on the funny things she has come up with lately. She says the funniest things. The best always come when she is trying to be really serious so you have to try really hard not to laugh:) just the other day when we were playing doctor she diagnosed me with "floppy belly ouchies". I asked her if she was trying to call me fat and she said "well you are a big kid and should probably eat some vegetables to be healthy and strong". Shortly after she said i had a big butt from all of the sitting i do. Yeah... I'm pretty sure my 3 yr old just told me I needed to diet and exercise! Haha

Such a beautiful family!

I agree, beautiful family.

Beautiful family, lucky you!  I am sure you have had a large part in making your "luck" also.

Lovely!! You sure have many blessing to count--I am happy for all of you!!

For me, becoming a doodle puppy raiser has been a blessing for me and finding my first Doodle, Mattie, started me on this journey! They are great dogs and i am so happy that you have found such a little doll of a doodle!

What a lovely blog/discussion. You are beautiful and you have a beautiful family. I really do think part of being beautiful is appreciating your life and striving to be happy. It seems you do both. I wish you all the best :)

It's wonderful to sometimes realize how lucky one is. These thoughts of yours are heart warming. I love the second to last picture of Silverlyn and Goldie. I also love your daughters comments.

What a delightful post! Your daughter and doodle are darling!

You are lucky, but much of that 'luck' is that you worked very hard to create it. Kudos to you. You and your family are quite lovely.   I really enjoy when you quote Silverlyn.  She is really precious.

Thanks, Nancy. Your comment really resonated with me. I've always been told that I don't give myself enough credit. Thank you for reminding me that I had quite an active hand in much of this "luck" :)

These pictures are wonderful.  What a beautiful family, inside and out.
