I am interested to hear how everyone named their dog..... I named my dog after James Cagney... Cagney is his name and we named him that because we love the old James Cagney movie... please share some stories on how you named your doodle.....
I like the Maddy as Madeline is a family name. Spelling a bit diiferent, but my great-grandmother, my sister and my second daughter are all named Madeline. DD is the only one shortened to Maddy.
Charlie was named after an infant on the Youtube video called " Charlie Bit Me"
She bit my daughter's finger on the way home from the breeder's house, and my daughter yelled " Charlie bit me!"
And that's how she got her name.
Rosco--my first pup. Made a list of names, narrowed it down to Rosco. Boring story =)
Thule--Clark rescued her before we were married. First family had named her "Truly" but Clark didn't like that name. Since Clark is Canadian and likes skiing he changed it to Thule (say "Too-lee").
I was drinking an iced caramel latte from Dunkin Donuts (my favorite) I thought about the drink and how it was the same color as his fur and so i named him Duncan (but I went with the english spelling). I call him Dunkachino or Dunkin Donuts all the time:)
Before I got Abby there was a Sesame Street commercial that always came on and there was a line where a cute little fairy puppet would say in a high pitched voice "Hi I'm Abby! Abby Cadabby!" I thought it was so cute thus Abby.
Kaela....... a name I have always loved meaning "Beloved Sweetheart".
I also love the name Lilia.
I have 4 boys so name searching became a hobby by the time I knew I was having the 4th (It is hard to think of good boy names 4 times LOL.) During the search I alway had my favourite back-up girls names.
Gus just looked like a Gus. No real thought behind it. Lilly was already named when we got her from her previous owner. Didn't see any need to change it.
Zach loves the musical artist Ben Harper, and Harper Lee is one of my favorite authors...however, it was supposed to be our "boy" name.
We loved it so much though that we decided it could be uni-sex, so we added the "louise" (lord knows where that came from...) and have a somewhat feminine name? people still always think she is a he though! :)
