Fast or Slow?
Stand up or sit-down?

My doodle, "The Dude" takes her time when she eats. Stopping for a break and stroll around the kitchen before returning back to her bowl. She also lies down to eat. I attribute that to her long still goofy puppy legs.

I think there is a big difference when you have more than one dood or dog. My guys can't graze because they eat different types of food and I don't just leave it out all day. Peri stands and eats within 5 minutes or I put it up!
So adorable. My Shelby is a slow eater.... She rarely finishes a meal and when she does it is usually because she didn't eat/finish the one before that. She stands up, is a social eater (wants to be around humans when eating) and loves to bring kibble in to the living room.
Tucker ( 2 years old) is a slow eater. At least once a week he doesn't eat for a few hours when the food is down or skips the meal all together. When he was a puppy he was a vacuum cleaner!
Clancy tends to eat right away and clean his plate when home. When camping in the RV his eating habits slow down considerably. Ned is a night eater. He likes to eat when it is dark and he is alone! But when he is serious about heating he lays down with the bowl between his paws like cutie pie Dude.
She is soooo cute!!
How adorable is that face!

Both of mine inhale their food.
Molly likes to lay down and eat. She''ll take a piece and eat it while looking around like she is in no hurry at all unlike our lab who's food gone pretty fast....
Neely eats very meticulously. He picks up only a piece at a time chews very quietly never chomping or spitting or splattering. Sometimes he will take a special treat over to the dog bed and lay down and have a look see first before he eats it lying down. Regular meals are taken standing up. He always takes treats very gently and always has.
Drinking was a disaster. Like a tsunami went through the house! Until we bought the gundog anti spill bowl. It is a Godsend.
Now chew toys and bones is another story. He will go to town with full vigor on those, making huge scrapping sounds. And taking seconds to destroy things. He only has chewed dry wall in his destructive moments. No idea why that and not shoes or underwear like normal dogs!!
Bella Doodle is not very excited about food, unless it's a treat. She eats standing up & quite slowly. She looks a lot like "The Dude" !
Holly would NEVER sit by her bowl like this, that's too cute! Holly eats so fast we've trained her to stop on command, it's the only way we can get her to slow down.
When Tori was a puppy, she used to lay down to eat - a lot. Someone told me that was not good for her, so I tried to encourage her to stand back up. She ate and actually still does eat 3 times a day. Now - sometimes only 2 times. She eats canned so I don't leave it out. But I do put kibble inside her kong, dice, and kong ball incase she feels like eating that..... funny - she has learned that it is in there. So she is a slow, very graceful eater. She too strolls and returns. Whatever is left after about 20 minutes, I pick up.
