I take Fudge and Vern to the groomers about every 6 weeks. It takes Vern (aka Pigpen) approximately 10 minutes to un-groom himself. Does anyone else have this problem?
Here is Vern after a trip to the groomer looking all white and fluffy.
Ok, here he is about 5 minutes after we get home.
Now he is getting warmed up.
Still Rolling
And later in the week, it often looks like this
or like this
This is gorgeous!! The size of yours is similar to ours only our walls will go all the way up. Our tile is a similar color too. Only ours will by 12x12s on the wall, the 6x9s were twice the cost!! I thought about doing 1/2 walls too. Now is your hand held on its own plumbing or did you use a diverter? I am having the hardest time explaining this to these dumb contractors. maybe I will use your picture.
Can your hubby come to MI? I know I could do it, I even have a wet saw but I just don't have time and my hubby will die if this isn't done over the next month. The flood happened 9/15, two months ago tomorrow.
Here is a pic of where ours is now. Bandit is trying it out already.. I looked for your video but didn't see it, but would love to if you post it!!
Thank you! :) He said to tell you it's on a diverter. The heat is regulated on the stationary unit not the handheld. Truthfully our flood happened almost to the day a year ago right before Thanksgiving! Our insurance company settled very quickly but with the holidays we weren't able to start gutting until during the Christmas holiday. Your photo brings back so many memories! I do have some tips to give you that we learned along the way. I can message them to you if you'd like :). The biggest one was our flooring choice. We used travertine for the shower and the shower walls and the shower floors. We had picked out travertine for the room flooring as well. We had it all ordered. Gratefully we went into (yet one more) tile shop and the woman convinced us to go with porcelain for the floor. We are sooooo glad we did. You can't tell the difference at all visually but the maintenance is night and day. Huge consideration and something to think about if you're considering it for your floors and it'll be a high traffic area with the pets.
Honestly, no matter how long it takes you'll be thrilled you had the opportunity to do it despite the aggravation. We never planned on remodeling our master for another 10 years or so but every time I walk I thank goodness we had a leak and great insurance!
Sure anytips would be great!! I am going with porcelain tile everywhere. We have over 400 sq ft to tile and whilst I wanted travertine the budget said NO! But I am getting a beautiful quartz countertop. You are lucky your insurance was quick, ours was nonstop arguing for 2 months!! And I saw the video, very good!! And you have excellent taste in dog names!! hee hee
Hello again...
Not sure if this will be helpful to you at this point...but...just in case it is...I would want to help in any way that I can...
We also went with travertine for the shower on our home in S.C....on the walls and the floors ...ceiling...we also picked it out for the room flooring as well...\
We have Not found that there is a differance in cleaning or maintainance...and we love the beautiful look...and...we've had it for a number of years...
It is so easy to clean...and is beautiful as well...and we are very happy with our choice to go with the travertine on all of the surfaces....
In our home in New Jersey...we went with tumbled marbled in the shower...walls...floors etc...and travertine on the floors...and have been totally happy and satisfied...and would make the same choice again.
It seems like you can't go wrong with either choice...
I'm so happy that you are going to Enjoy your new shower...and also how wonderful it will be...when you ALL shower Together!! (smile)
Enjoy...
I'm so happy for you...
Sooooo cute! I have one like that too--LOVES the mud! And of course, it is the white one! My red one walks around all the puddles and is usually spotless.
What is it about those white doodles? Fudge is so dainty and won't even drink out of the water bowl after Vern finishes. I can't say I blame her. Vern just loves leaves, mud, rain, dirt, anything gross.........
Suzann...
I didn't know you were having a great Big Human and Doodle shower made!!
We have one too...and I love it...so does Sasha...
It's Great for All of us to get into the shower...me...Sasha...and DH....with pleanty of room to spare...(smile)
The hand held shower spray is so helpful...and Sasha thinks that she's in a spa...with two "Attendants" waiting on her...hand and foot...or...should I say...paw and paw...Lol...
We have one in S.C. without a door...and one in N.J. with a door...and I don't find it a problem with or without...
I don't know if you ever tried the Rapid Bath...but...that's another option to hook up to your shower...and you can bathe your Doodle and Rinse them COMPLETLY in just 5 minutes...
It really works wonders...
So...the option of the hand held or the rapid bath is a nice choice...
A Shower Can Never Be Too Big...That's what I have to say...Lol...
Enjoy...I'm sure you and the Doods will...
Ha I am so excited to get ours done!! I looked at the Rapid bath. That is pretty cool. I think we are going with the handheld so I can wash the shower too. Looks like we could start a new discussion about doggie walk in showers!
He is adorable, dirty or clean. :-) I do have to admit to not wanting to take Darwin outside for a day or two after the grooming. I don't want to waste the clean... ha ha.
Jasper and Maris do the same thing ,they were just groomed today and Maris got all slimed up by best pal and rottwieler Cody , Jasper just rolls around on the ground to get dirty again .
