Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am in an area where hurricane sandy hit bad.. On my Facebook I am friends with the local shelter The town of Hempstead they just posted a post stating that a male Labradoodle mix that is very friendly is up for adoption due to the fact that his family lost their home in hurricane Sandy. I am waiting for more information on him. If you or someone you know may be interested message me or comment me here with ur number and I can text u a pic that I took of the Facebook page. Sorry if I'm not allowed to post this.. But due to the situation I had to.. I know this shelter is over populated with dogs due to the hurricane :(

is that a catch pole on him?????????

It does look like it in the small picture, but if you look at the larger one in the link I posted, it looks more like a rope or some kind of fuzzy material they're using as a leash.

Me, too. Shelters are usually very stressful places for dogs.

I just called Adrianne and WALA- She appears!   I see her on now!  She is a woman on a mission I tell ya

hehehehehehehehehe - did you feel the vibes so many miles away!!! You are just too darn funny!!

and no J I didn't see your email until a minute ago. I have told you for years that you and I are connected. Something said I needed to check in on DK now.

If Adrianne is on it, this guy will be well cared for in no time! GO Adrianne!

be careful or I will be a-calling!!!

Nice job Chels*Claude*Midas.

thank u!! :)

I just emailed the shelter with all the paperwork they would need from the DRC. Now we need all need to cross paws and hope that they will allow DRC to get him into a foster home.

Let me know. I'll meet you in Hershey.  My heart aches on some of this.  I attended a seminar for animals after Katrina.  The huge man in charge of Bernard Parish is my neighbor.  He cried while telling us the worst part of going down there was the animals.

People want to KEEP their animals.  How horrible to have them ripped away because of their situation.  Shelters were giving animals away, loading them into trucks to be adopted 1,000 of miles away and there was NOTHING they could do.  The people were Angry. But what are shelters to do? People were screaming that their animals were being stolen. None of this situation was fair and I see this happening now.

Think about it... I can not imagine someone loading my dog in crate and driving away-forever.

I would keep someone's animal until they regrouped.
