Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up - totally worn out and screaming "whoo hoo what a ride'!

A couple of my favorites are:
We have art in order not to die of the truth. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Perhaps the most indispensable thing we can do as human beings, every day of our lives, is remind ourselves and others of our complexity, fragility, finiteness and uniqueness. Antonio R. Damasio
Love the art quote!
Sharing is Caring
My Dog is My Heart (I have a heart pendant that says that) and it is my most favorite piece of jewelery)
Jane... I love the quote as well and tend to live my life and exit the same way as quoted :)
One that I have occasionally used, mostly to just make a point about thinking about what you do and say BEFORE you do it, (and I actually just made this up) is: "If I pushed you off of a cliff and said I'm Sorry as you are falling, would it hurt any less when you hit the bottom". Sometimes I just feel like I'm Sorry is over used. It's like I can do whatever I want or say whatever I want and then just say I'm sorry and the slate is erased. My point, is the hurt isn't erased just by saying I'm sorry!
Love all the quotes....Many of them will be put into my "quote book"
Here is two of my recently added quotes.
Faith is not about turning out okay.
Faith is about being okay no matter how things turn out.....
and
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't.
Than to live my life as if there isn't a God and die to find out there IS.....
I like that one but always have this one in the back of my mind when I need to motivate myself
"Chop wood and sparks fly"
I spend lots of my time chopping wood!!!
After having read all these lovely quotes, I am sure you are all going to think I am a rotten, materialistic person but I so do love this quote by, of all people, Johnny Depp...
'Money can't buy you happiness but you can buy a bad a** yacht and sail right on up to it!'
(try not to think too unhighly of meas my DH's two year stint of unemployment has made me slightly nutty!)
Not at all, Money can't buy happiness but it can make being miserable a whole lot more comfortable. :>)
