Okay Doodle Parents - I may have a found a chewy that can't be destroyed!
Samantha has had this toy now 48 hours and so far it doesn't even have a scratch! I ordered via Amazon.com Planet Dog - large Tuff Orbee Bone - Large. It does cost $14.95 but so far I am thrilled and it seems to be worth the money. I bought a $4.00 rubber bone Monday and within 1 hour it was in pieces and in the trash. She loves carrying Orbee bond around and chewing it. I bought the Large one but at 61 lbs I would order the medium one next time. The end of the bones seems to bit large for her (3X2.5 and 8" long) but she loves it just the same.
This is the same brand of 'tennis balls' I bought for her and they are still in 1 piece - again, not cheap but at $6.50 each we still have them. Oh, and these ball bounce AND float! I guess you do get what you pay for.
Would love to hear if anyone else has purchased these products and how they faired with your Doodle.
Another one you might want to try is Galilio dog bone. Claimed to be 10 times stronger than other Nylabones, it's one of only a few toys Finn can't destroy. Comes in different sizes. He took a while to get used to its smooth texture - but now he loves it.
Unfortunately my Golden Retriever (as a 1yr old) destroyed the end off of a galieo in 20mins. I returned it to the store immediately. Galieo says they are indestructible but I have determined there is no such toy if you have strong chewers. On the plus side they do usually grow out of that phase. So far my doodles do not seem to be as aggressive chewers:)
Yeah - thank you, I just went on and would like to add that if you pick four toys it will deduct the price of one from your cart so you will get one free.
I LOVE amazon I did at least 90 percent of my shopping on there this year!!

We bought one of those for Kali which she loved, but her best friend (Toban, also a doodle) got it in our car and had it destroyed in about a minute. Instead of getting her another bone we got one of the strawberries because you can put a treat inside. Planted dog has a rating system the bone was only rated 3 out of 5 for toughness but the strawberry was rated 4 out of 5. So far out strawberry has been great (although always kept out of Toban reach) although Kali isn't a really strong chewer.
this bone is a 3 out of 5 on Planet Dog's chewer scale but as of today, I would give it a higher rating. Ours is still in piece on day 3. For us, it is working.
I wouldn't be so sure about it's toughness. Toban literally destroyed ours in under a minute. He had it in pieces before I could grab it from him. Maybe it's a size thing, the bigger ones might be tougher. I think ours was a medium.
I've never seen those Tuff Orbee Bones, but our doodle has the same problem, only recently, with destroying toys. Some of his toys lasted 1 year, but then at 13 months -- bam! Gone within minutes.
One toy that has so far lasted for us is the Busy Buddy toy with the hard ends and the bouncy ball in the middle. It comes with gnawhide, and once it's gone, they can chew on the ends of the bone. It looks like this:http://www.soundanimals.com/images/BusyBuddyBouncyBone.jpg
The medium sized one lasted 10 months, and we just bought the large one, and so far so good!
