I finally think dh is getting how unhappy that I am. I haven't seen him for almost 2 weeks now and if I am going to spend this much time without him - this is not where I'd want to be. Soooo . . . . I think within the year that we might have a chance to move to South Caroline - just east of Columbia - a little town called Camden. Is there any DKers from that area? Columbia? Elgin? Camden? Please contact me and let me know where we should be looking. This would put me back where there are seasons!!!! And 3 to 3.5 hours from my daughter in Marietta, GA. I'd have a real house with a yard for the boys!!!! I don't want to get my hopes up but when I get back from our vacation in March ---- this house is on the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any reason for Camden? What about Greenville - beautiful city, nice size, DH grew up there. Only 2 hours max from ATL, 3 hours from Charleston, beaufiful part of upstate SC. But you will like SC!!!
Can I just tell you all how much your support means to me? I feel like good, bad, sad, scary - we are all here to cheer each other on - LOVE YA!!!!!! So why the Camden area (I'm thinking Elgin actually - little bigger and closer to the airport in Columbia)? Top secret stuff BUT not only might I be happier in S.C. but if the situation pans out - dh will actually be living with us more often!!!!! Lets just say that the location wasn't a random choice - a work situation but one that would make me so happy. It may take a long time to get our house here sold (notice I do not say our home - never felt at home here) but knowing that this option is out there - good enough for now!
I would so agree with you Jane. Although your area is lovely as I know about where you are, I have lived in Fla for 39 years and it was the best day of my life when our belongings and we drove out of the state. If I never go back it would be fine with me, unfortunately, my mother is still there so that will make me go back more than I would like. You have had enough scares with aligators and hurricanes and tropical storms and electicity outages to last a lifetime in the short time you have been there. Hurrican Florence totally did me in and I hope you aren't there long enough to be effected by any hurricanes.
It is a beautiful state....to visit. Good for you to be thinking of leaving.
I live in Chapin SC.. about 20 minutes from Columbia SC
Wouldn;t that be so fun to meet Jane, Rooney and Stuart, Jen?
We will for sure meet on the cruise either way!!!
That's true, but Rooney, Stuart and Jack want to meet too. They told me! Sounds like a SC Doodle Romp waiting to happen!
So happy for you! Keeping our fingers & paws crossed that it all works out. Sounds like you have a great husband that cares very much about your happiness. And closer to your daughter and A REAL HOME with a BACKYARD - YEAH!!!!! Florida is a wonderful place to visit, but living there is not for me either. I love the changing seasons!
