I got puppy fever about one year after we brought Beowoof home. There must be a one year itch for doodles. LOL! After spending a few months stalking the Puppy Madness group and several breeder websites, I decided I just had to get Beowoof a doodle sibling. I put down a deposit on a future litter and wiled away the months dreaming of our future puppy. I had eight months to obsess prepare. Mind you, we also have a small army of miniature schnauzers so the puppy would be dog #6 in our house. We are used to dog craziness around here! The first couple of months were hectic, of course, but life is pretty good with two doods! Mozzie has been such a fun addition. He loves Beowoof!
Two doodles are definitely more expensive. I was astonished by how much food we were going through! Easily double the amount of food we previously used. Insurance expenses go up and grooming is twice as expensive. (I groom my schnauzers). But, I wouldn't trade it for the world! They do take up a LOT of floor space wherever they lie down, usually at my feet. Bed space is getting tight, too. We manage, though! :-)
This looks like my house, with doodles causing a minor traffic jam at the doorways. I've taught them to "stay" as I hop over them because at first they would jump up when anyone approached and that just adds to the confusion.
But it is fun with two, I have to admit.
I know, right!
Well . . . . We just picked up a doodle at the shelter for the DRC, and while we are committed to having only two dogs at a time, if this little one had not been spoken for, we would have broken our new rule! Puppy fever at its worst! We were 'saved' and are glad, but if I could have had that little guy . . . .
Isn't it so much fun to watch how they play together...I never get tired of being entertained by my girls.
They are so cute I can hardly stand it!!!
