I think I know why everyone loves doodles!!

It occured to me this morning as I was getting up.  I walked back into the bedroom and there was Wilson, all snuggled up and sleepy eyed!  It is his adorable way of always still looking like an adorable puppy!  I dont think doodles ever age.  They keep their puppy look forever!!  What do you  think?

Yes I think so too!!  They have a puppy look and antics even as they mature!

I completely agree with you...and I've thought of this often myself.  I especially notice it with Guinness, probably because he's small.  Everybody assumes he's just a puppy.

I totally agree! Even Houdini my first doodle kept his puppiness at 11 years old.

It is funny that you should mention this because Tara, being a mini, is often mistaken by strangers as being a standard labradoodle PUPPY (She is 2 years old). I have found this to be a great advantage if she is misbehaving. I can just agree with them and say she is 4 months old! Which of course explains the unruly behaviors!! hee hee!

But aside from fooling unsuspecting strangers, DH and I still call her "the puppy" and since she is the smallest dog we have ever had it does seem like we are still waiting for her to grow up!! She still has  that "puppy" look to her and I hope she always does! I love it!!

The NOVA episode I watched called Decoding Dogs basically said that interaction with humans over the past 12000 yrs has resulted in selection for traits in dogs which would be considered infantile in wolves.  The show explained in much better...  But we humans love the baby-ishness of dogs.  Petting them actually releases oxytocin in humans, being pet does it for dogs.  Oxytocin is the hormone that you make when breastfeeding to induce a state of pleasure and bonding.

Yup--so very cute. I look at Mattie and Lyric just about every day and admire their cuteness and feel lucky to have them to look at and be with. Of course, I have 5 cute pups of Lyric's to look at too for a few more weeks--I am blessed!
