Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So I hope everyone had the most wonderful of Thanksgivings!! Mine was nice but doodless :( The boys were with their sitter while I flew to Michigan and dh was in West Virginia. Between children and elderly parents we try to cover all the bases - thankfully we will be together over Christmas. I was for the most part without internet so I have tons of catching up with you all - and look forward to all the new posts, blogs and pictures. I did have some very interesting things happened while I was on this trip. First, when I left Stuart at the sitter's he was a 7 month old puppy - one week later I came home to see a Goldendoodle that resembles Stuart but that looks like an adult, he grew right out of his puppy look while I was gone!!!! He still acts just as goofy but his look has changed, my baby is growing up! Sniff. Second - I have caught the most terrible head cold or maybe sinus infection EVER and I have NO taste. Which I find totally wonderful as I no longer care to eat - even when hungry - whats the point if I can't taste it. So I realize that we should invent a pill that would cause this - the Tasteless Diet - because at this rate I'm bound to lose a few lbs and we could get rich if we could find a way to duplicate the effects, any medical people out there - LOL. Hold on while I take a few "hits" from my Vick's Inhaler - aaaah - hey do you think I could be addicted to this thing? Does anyone know where I could get the product below? What a time saver - lol!!
Third - some of you know about the drama we had when a young man drove his car through a metal fence and his suv went into the river outside of my condo at 3:15 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. I'll spare everyone the dramatic details (or the visual of me with bedhead, in my p.j.'s - sans bra - running - NOT a pretty sight) and I was no hero but I did what I could, but I'd like to pass along the moral of the story as I see it. If you ever think you are heading for water - roll the windows down - most likely you'll then have a way out. This guy is big and strong and he couldn't kick the window out once under the water. Luckily he is alive because he was able to climb through the sun roof. So now, high on cold meds and cough drops I'm off to take a nap with the boys. I'm hoping for a very boring Christmas!

Wow, Jane, it sounds like you could use a little "boring" right now, lol! Glad you're back and I hope you feel better soon!
Feel better soon. I have had a hacking cough for 3 weeks now....Feeling like ...shall we say...doodle poop! I have run out of patience as I am never sick!!! had myself a good little pitty party when I got off work this AM, I laid in my bed coughing and crying...not a pretty site LOL
I hope you feel better, take care and by the way...LOVE the idea of a tasteless diet pill...
Holy cow--what a post--good luck with the cold and sorry about the accident! I live on a big curve that has a bridge crossing a stream and there have been so many accidents in front of my house. At one point, the people at 911 recognized my voice! I feel your pain! The weirdest one was a young couple who went off the road into the stream at about 2 am. My young daughter came into our room to tell us that there was a car in the water. The couple was able to get out along with their cat. They came into the house to warm up and wait for police and just let the cat roam around the house. It was strange to have these people hanging out with all of us in our PJs.
There never seems to be a dull moment in your life Jane! LOL Hope you are feeling better by now!
Jane - Sorry about your cold and the resulting loss of taste. I know how miserable that can be. Before I got my allergies under control (knock on wood), I'd get sick every Thanksgiving or Christmas and sometimes both! The best meals of the year and I couldn't taste a thing!
Also, thanks for the reminder about ending up in your car in the water. For years, I'd drive by two reservoirs on my way to and from work. Being the anxious, claustrophobic person that I am, I'd occasionally "see" myself going off the road and into the water. For peace-of-mind, now all the cars I drive have one of those escape tools - a hammer type tool to break the window and a razor to cut myself from the seatbelt. Hopefully, I'll never have to use one, but I feel better knowing they're there.
HA HA love the pic! Hope ypou feel better soon and wow quite the excitement!!! Let's hope less is more for Christmas!!
