Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello to all, I just bought this puppy from a lady, and she said that it is goldendoodle, and I am so galuble, even though I do know the rules of buying a puppy, so now I am not so sure that I got a goldendoodle, she said that he is second generation.

Does anyone know if those "Who's Your Daddy" dog DNA tests work?  I guess if you really want to find out the breed you can buy the kit and get a test done.  http://gormetdogtreats.com/p-1503-whos-your-daddy-dna-breed-identif...  He is super cute!

I don't think they are very accurate from what I have read.

I bought something similar a few years ago for my daughter, who had just rescued a black, very lab, looking puppy. He probably did have some Pit in him, but he really looked Lab- ish. The results came back Papillion and Great Dane . Not even close. I will admit, it was a cheapy,, swab the mouth, send in type test.

He is a darling little pup, but I doubt a goldendoodle.  Looks like you were taken astray by a BYB.  Enjoy your puppy.  He can be anything you want him to be.

Exactly Lynda. Enjoy and love! Such a cutie and we all will be interested to see how he grows,

Just a quick suggestion - GET HEALTH INSURANCE.  Since you know nothing about the puppy's lineage anything is possible.  At this age there will be no pre-existing conditions.

I think by accident, I found the breeder. I was googling photos of mini golden doodles. I clicked on a photo similar to your pup, and her ad came up.  Is she is Bellingham, WA?  $650. And it looks like your little boy was in the mix.  I can't tell if they are mini-goldendoodles.  I was going to say no, but looking at the other pups, they could be, but they are very tiny. Anyhow, I'm glad you've decided to keep your little boy.  I would not give him back! He's just adorable and it sounds like he's found a loving home and loving hearts.  Joanne said it best, as always :)

I see it too Cheryl--definitely him--and not sure why any breeder would advertise this way--I don't think these are mini-goldendoodles, but they sure are cute. I am sure he will be a good puppy, but doubt there was any health testing of the parents...

I don't know either, Ginny, which is one reason I would not send him back.  Fingers crossed on the health.

Thank you, I do want to call the breeder and ask her, what in the world? We are keeping him, but I would like to know what was she thinking, and what about other families that bought from her? I should have done my homework before, but he is here and we love him.

He's adorable! It will be an adventure, finding out what he will look like when he grows up! No matter what, he'll definitely be cute!

Join puppy madness group and search the forum for tips on housebreaking, crate training, whatever--we have had lots of discussions about all the puppy issues and you will find some great answers--if you don't have a crate, run right out and get one--and then do your research on crate training--good luck with your cute little boy.
