Actually, you and Murphy may have just solved a mystery for me. It has also been steamy hot here, and JD has been not wanted to take his morning walks. He's all excited to leave for his walk, but after a bout 5 minutes, all bodily functions completed, he stops dead in his tracks and won't continue on, in amy direction. Then after a minute, he turns for home. His evening walks have not been affected.
Must be the heat and/or the hot pavement.
Peri is excited to walk, but after 5 minutes in this heat, her tongue is hanging out and she looks exhausted (even with her "summer" cut and walking in the grass). The second we get back inside, she gets water, then plops down on the air vent on the hardwoods and deeply siiiiggghhhhsss....like "mom, geez, it's too hot for a dood".
We have a song we sing to her that goes to the tune of "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" (I know, don't make fun of this - it was on that Oscar nominated movie a few years back)...we replace it with "It's Hot Out There for a DOOD".
Ha!
Murphy is the KING of WIMP!!!! He has always acted like he was allergic to the sun! Even as a puppy he would seek out shade within a few yards of our house and just plop down. He is a little better now but not much. Now he will go out to do his business, and then hop onto the sofa outside and stare into the living room window on the porch just waiting to be let in. It's so pathetic to see his little face in the window so we always rush over to let him in.....
Now Bella, she is just happy as can be. Rain or shine, sunny or dark out. Love, Love, LOVES to be outside. They are so different.
