When Izzy now goes for her soupy poopy a red donut shape appears to hang out! I have called the vet. Waiting for him to call back. It has gone back in. In preparation for tonight, I now have a bed for me set up in the room she sleeps in and because she just poops in her crate, and then lies in it, the crate is gone. I hope I will wake when she moves, to try and catch the poop even if she does it in her sleep! How hard can it be? I think Izzy believes showering in the morning with Mom is normal! Just we use different shampoo!!!!!

Sounds like a hemorrhoid if dogs get them. Or just irritated and inflamed mucosal lining from all the diarrhea. See what vet says to treat but that can't be comfortable at all. I'd probably keep the area extra clean, maybe have her sit in a warm bath for as long as you can get her to. Sorry, that's all I can think of. Gosh, maybe Imodium to give her a break and allow it to heal some? Just thinking, not sure your vet will agree.

Dogs don't get hemorrhoids where anything protrudes from the body. :(

I just went through something similar with a puppy.

But, I left up the crate and slept on the couch right next to her. I could hear her paws on the plastic crate bottom and knew she was waking up and trying to stand.   This  we could hurry on to the potty spot.  Thing is, she was in a crate!   I would hope you can figure out something similar.  Can you move the crate to right next to your bed. Would you hear he nails on the plastic tray?  I would NOT have her  uncrated.  If it is from parasites, you will have your entire house in a real mess/ Plus, on a plastic crate bottom you can bleach the area as to not keep re-infecting her. Making her free run of the house at night truly is not the answer.  Continue crate and potty training at this time!  Please.

Our girl  also had a very red and sore rectum from persistent stool elimination and parasite infection.  I'm thinking this is what you are experiencing?

Sorry you are going through this. It really is so difficult. But many of us here have been there and understand what you are going through

I did want to add here that during potty training on a dog who is older but not crate trained- one who may have been caged and only knows to go in the crate, I got up every hour, then every two, then every three, etc.
Maybe I was fortunate, but in less than a week, I had two pups (older-6 momths), potty trained. Of course, never free run in my house.
if I heard ONE movement in a crate, we were out to the potty spot FAST. They went potty, then could play, then back to crate.
So, if you are having problems, a week or so of getting up at night every few hours may help.
It is just a trade off- AM shower and kennel cleaning vs the waking up every few hours.
I know it is difficult.
Hope this helps but certainly I do not know all your details.

This sounds very much like a rectal prolapse, and given her age and the GI parasite situation, it's crucial that you get in touch with your vet ASAP. If the vet doesn't call you back soon, get her to the ER.

I thought of rectal prolapse too but thought I would be jumping the gun.  Sorry, I'm wrong. I agree with Karen,   CALL YOUR VET

Poor baby.  Please keep us posted.

Poor Izzy...I agree with the prolapse, it definitely sounds like it..Will your vet be able to see you tonight?

Im sorry Izzy is having this added to her problems. Poor Izzy, she must be miserable.
I hope you can get her into your vet...or the ER vet for sure tonight.
Thinking of Izzy & You

This certainly sounds like a prolapse and if so is an emergency. Please update us as soon as you can.

I'm sorry Izzy and you are going through this.  Hopefully you are able to get the medical help you need as soon as possible and I pray for Izzy's full recovery.
