Just how personal do you want to get?!?

I have a question for you... would you want to stay with other DK members when you are traveling?  Would you want to host DK members that are traveling?

 

On a different social network today (on the same platform as us) I saw a feature that allowed you to search for other members that would host your stay while in their city.  Call it couch surfing, spare bedroom squatting, whatever.  It sounded like it could be fun.

 

I would set up a new page where you could search for hosts in a given city or state.  You could then contact them and work out the details.  What do you think?  Would you want to do that?

 

To make it work you would just have to answer one additional question to your profile:  "Would you host other DK members as overnight guests in your home?"

 

Let me know what you think.  I could set it up in a few hours and it might be a hoot.  I know I would only be a little scared of what Laurie, Fudge, and Vern said about us after their visit to Walla Walla.  :-)

You know, I did just book a place in Cape May, NJ for a weekend with friends in September. Hmmmnnn.....maybe a side trip would be fun, but don't serve them Sangria because they get to giggling and will drive a sane person nuts :)

I would love to meet you. I am far from Cape May but anytime! I'd be happy to meet part way. The beaches at places like Sandy Hook are OK after labor day. There's usually a romp Sept/Oct. When are you coming?

9/23 and 9/24. I am coming with friends and my daughter, for one of the gal's birthday. Let me know when the romp is or I will look for it on DK. I don't think Fudge is romp material, but Vern would love it.

I would possibly be interested, but only if I can visit Donna K.'s beautiful area, Sue's house to swim in her new pool, and Jane's Lake Michigan condo.  Wow!  I can plan all my vacation destinations!  My place is unfortunately not that special.:(

Traci - that is correct - I had forgotten, I can offer up; a nice place in Fort Myers & a beach front condo on the S.W. shore of Lake Michigan!!!!!  Come one come all - I would love it.

Is your place in SW Michigan?  Or IN or IL?  I used to live in Berrien Springs MI and hung out in St. Joseph all the time.  I was a painting contractor and that's where most of my work was.  I loved the area except for the complete lack of mountains.  I grew up in Alberta with the Rockies visible on the horizon and missed that (and the skiing that comes with it) too much.

While I can't imagine many people wanting to come to Omaha Nebraska, unless they are, of course, fans of the College World Series, I would love to meet more Doodle people.  Again, I would want to "know" someone (most likely they would already be a "friend" or there has been regular exchanges of posts.  

 

Our lower-level walk-out has two bedrooms, a bath, wetbar and big screen TV.  I love to grill, but I don't do dishes, by my DH does, and I love wine!

Rooney & Stuart and I have never been to Nebraska.  I'm thinking we might just plan a drive out there next summer - lol - seriously.  I have a friend in Duluth Minnesota so maybe we'd just group it in together!

Heck girlfriend, what are you waiting for.  Omaha is a pretty awesome place to visit...in the summer...winter not so much so.  The three of you are welcome.  Just pack up your Puppy Hauler and hit the road.  I lived in Duluth for 25 years...I just love Lake Superior...the weather not so much so.
