No big discussion, I just wanted to brag :-)

Went to Lowe's today with both dogs.  My DH was shopping so I took both dogs and they behaved beautifully.  Charlotte is 9 months old and Webster is 2 years old.  They walked nicely, sat to greet their fans, and even shook hands.  They stretched their noses so the toddlers in the carts could pet them and they even spent a bit of time with a lady in a wheelchair.  The butt wagging was controlled, no jumping, and only a little back talking when Charlotte didn't want to sit :-)  They were a huge hit in the store and everyone was shocked that "such big dogs" and "so young" were so well behaved.  There was one woman who was so enthralled with them (in a very positive, responsible way) that she is going home to check petfinder for doodles in shelters or rescue groups.

Apparently it was an exhausting trip for the doodles as they are currently passed out on the dining room floor.  It wasn't long ago that a walk with both dogs resulted in my arm, shoulder, and back aching.  It appears that those days are over!

We have a local radio station that has "Love On Your Kids Friday".  How about today be "Brag on your Doodle Saturday".  Join in with any "brag" you want to share!

That's wonderful. Like the bit about "sat to greet their fans" Too cute :-)

And you deserve to brag.

It is amazing that trips out to different places exhausts them so much. Out Neely is more tired after a day out at work with DH riding in the truck all day than if he were home playing outside or with a buddy. I think it is brain drain from all the different smells they have to process.

Have you tried a gentle leader harness? It has greatly improved our walks!
We have a pinch/prong collar for Charlotte.  She was TERRIBLE on the leash and I would have a back/shoulder/arm ache from walking her.  I was a huge ANTI pinch collar person but it, along with continued training, has done wonders.  Yesterday we didn't have the pinch collar and Charlotte behaved quite nicely in her flat collar.

On Our last dog (after I had 8 surgeries in 2.5 yrs I could no longer control or walk her) .  We used the Gentle Leader Walker. It hooks in front at their chest.  We had tried the Halti Harness (like the Gentle Leader) And she would have nothing to do with that on her face.

We put the Gentle Leader Walker on her once in the house...Then the next day used it on a walk.  It didnt even take getting out of the drive way & she was heeling perfect by my side!  I was looking forward to really walking her alot this Spring & Summer. Sadly She died 4 weeks later.

Now I have Trixie to walk & show off : )

So sorry you lost your dog.  Every dog has thier own special place in our hearts, fortunately a new pup brings such joy that we can relish those memories without all the pain.  Have fun walking Trixie this year!
How awesome!  I find Lowe's a great place to take my Doods.
That is so great! While we are bragging--I took my dogs to a clinic today with lots of other dogs. The 15 week old got his microchip and got his eyes tested and his mom just had the eye test done (they are both breeding dogs)--they were so good! It is nice to have a dog that can be social and enjoys seeing other people and dogs--definitely makes life more fun for them and for us!
Yeah Rio and Lyric (did I remember their names correctly?)!  I just added to the original post and now maybe others want to join in on the bragging :-)
How wonderful to be able to show off your guys.  You must be very proud!
Brag away Jennifer. I get the same type of responses when Gus and Lily are with me in our local Lowes. Half of the full time employees know them by name now. Lowes is one of the most pet friendly store around. I don't even go to Home Depot anymore for that reason.
Our Home Depot welcomes our dogs also.  I saw a lady who works at Home Depot give a visiting boxer a dog bone.  We didn't have our guys with us at that time but it was nice to see someone else's dog get a welcome.
