I just saw this on television today and couldn't breath for just a minute, warning, this is horrifying but it turns out all right.  My son is one that lets his dog walk himself with the leash, thankfully they are country but this is really a warning for any of us that might have to use an elevator with our dogs.

BTW the girl ended up with two broken fingers and 7 shred cuts on her hand.

Oooooohhhhh....that was hard to watch!  My stomach is still doing flipflops!  You can be sure, I will be extra vigilant the next time we are in an elevator!

I saw this on FB the other day. Horrible.

Yes, I saw it too.  Terrifying!  Something similar happened to my friend several years ago when part of her leash was caught outside the car door and as she drove her lab's neck was pulled to the floor/door of the car.  She stopped quickly to try and figure out what was going on thank goodness.  That has always stuck with me and I always double check.

I saw this the other day too and can't watch it again.  Accidents happen!  I'm just glad mine haven't been so serious.

One time at the dog park, I rolled up the window with Penny's head sticking out.  All the dogs were barking and whining because they were so excited so I didn't know she was crying.  Once I realized her head was stuck, I had to get back in the car, start the ignition and roll the window back down.  I was horrified that I had hurt her.  Luckily dog necks are very strong and she was fine.

ANOTHER day, she grabbed Charlie's collar and got her jaw stuck underneath it.  Charlie was choking and she was crying.  They were thrashing about.  I had to get Charlie's supposed "quick release" collar undone to free them.  He no longer wears a collar in the house because Penny did NOT learn her lesson.

Positively terrifying.
That's pretty scary! She's lucky that all she ended up with was two broken fingers and some cuts.
I think I can skip the video and just thank you for reminding us of being watchful of our dogs and leashes especially around any machinery, let alone elevators. Cars, Fans, lawn mowers, bikes, etc.

I saw that on the news as well and I still don't think I have fully gotten over it. It would be terrifying. Although I'm not sure why she is walking with the leash dragging on the floor rather than holding her dog by its leash.

It is definitely a good lesson learned to remain aware of the danger, but I am always holding Ragley's leash so I think that helps deter the danger of anything like this happening. I can't imagine what I would do if it did! I'd be scarred forever
