Myla poops three times a day - as soon as she gets up in the morning, another around 10:30am and then again in the evening. Every single day except the days I cut the lawn!!! Then she has four! We have an acre all in lawn and it takes a while to mow it. As soon as I finish, put the lawnmower away and sit down with a cider to admire the yard, Myla gets up and walks around the lawn, sniffs for a while, goes around and around in a circle and plops a fresh one right on the newly cut grass! Every single time, no matter what time we cut the lawn! How she does it I have no idea. Anyone else have a doodle that feels they have to leave a lawn ornament on freshly cut grass???

Actually Meg generally takes a bit to find her 'spot' again, it throws her off, changes the scent somehow. We are on two acres but just fenced a huge area directly behind the house when we got Meg. When we mow her yard she just seems a bit lost as to where to go and then finally figures it out again. Her problem is she doesn't want to pick up a toy if it lands anywhere close to where she went on that particular day. It is weird, we pick them up as she leaves them but she knows something was there and she is not picking the toy up from it.
She's claiming that newly mown grass as her own, I guess? Quirky and cute!
How funny! I only wish we had a yard big enough for my guys to have that luxury. :-}
Are you sharing your cider with her? Maybe that's what's making her go a fourth time on lawn-mowing day!
No way - I don't share my cider with anyone or anydog!!! :)
Here are my thoughts about the poo and the lawn mowing. Dogs, at least Spud, become exited with the Sweeper and the Lawn mower. Even car rides make him excited. It throws off the poop schedule.
So, by mowing your lawn, everything gets stirred up and moving with the excitement. Excited dog = Poop
So, it's your fault :) Or, if your dog is constipated, get out the lawn mower.
I never thought of it that way so of course it's my fault! LOL - and here I thought Myla just did not want me to get used to a beautiful lawn, she wanted to show me that she lives here and it's her turf! And if I know Myla, she will only get constipated in the middle of the winter!
So there is a poop schedule????? Those of us with doggy doors don't have a clue.......
Yep, my doodles do something similar ..... usually before I mow the lawn I pick up the poops then play with them for a bit just in case someone has to make #2 and sure enough as I am mowing one of the doodles is pooping on the grass that has NOT been mowed yet. So that means stopping the mower, going in the house and getting another poop bag, cleaning it up and then start mowing. They do this every time, if its not Sasha its Oliver or sometimes BOTH !! I know they secretly laugh behind my back and say "got her again tehehehe"
Just proves that a freshly mowed lawn tickles the s--- out of them... I haven't noticed a pattern, but do agree excitement = poo.
