Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We live in Delaware County and in November our beloved labradoodle was taken from our yard. After some research we found out that she is somewhere in the Townsend Delaware vicinity. Her name is Lola and she is all black and was wearing a red collar when she was taken from our yard. She will be 2 years old as of next month and she was part of our family since she was 4 months old. Our 4 year old daughter is still reeling over the loss of her best friend, as are we, and we need her returned to her family. She is very friendly and will come to you if called. Please return her to us safe and sound and we will kindly reward you...name your price. We just want our little girl back.

I do not personally know this family. Just saw an ad and thought I would share. You never know who knows someone.

This is the link to see Lola's picture.

It is stories like this that make me worry. What kind of creep steals a family pet?? I will be praying for Lola's safe return.
This is very sad.  I wonder why, if they have figured out where she is, that they can't seem to quite find her.  I wish them well.
That's what I was wondering. If they have information about where she's at why don't they go there with it? Either way I hope this works out for them in getting her back.

This is terrifying......I am always so nervous about this.  We often leave our front door open (only while we are home of course) so that our 2 doods can look out the full screen door.  I have, lately, been thinking twice about doing this, as people can clearly see, and hear, them in the house.  One night while I was taking my big guy out for his last pee of the night in my front yard, a man actually pulled his car over and called out to me in my yard, asking how much my dog was worth.  After that I was beyond paranoid.  Anyone who would steal a beloved pet is truly inhuman but I've learned that some people are just disgusting.......I have often contemplated getting an alarm system.....solely for my pups' protection when we're not home.

I'm praying for Lola's safe return.

I saw this too.  I wondered why if they know where Lola is...they don't get the police involved. Must not be micro chipped. They also just posted  looking for a labradoodle...on the Philadelphia craigslist site...Mentioned not wanting to go through Doodle rescue which I found odd...

Looking to adopt allergy friendly dog-no little guys please! (Drexel Hill)

Thanks for looking!
Our labradoodle was taken from our yard in November and after months of searching and mourning I tihnk it's time to start the search for another family friend. It's clear we're not getting our girl back and have now learned that when we adopt our next doggie they won't be let out of our sight.
We have been fostering a friends dog(lab) until she returns from overseas and after doggie sitting her we came to the realization that we are in need of an allergy friendly dog. Poodle or Labradoodle preferred but will consider other medium/large "allergy friendly" breeds. We also prefer a female who is at least 1 year of age. Must be good with young children and our older kitty cat, housebroken and UTD on shots. In return we will provide a loving, forever home. I'm a stay at home mom so our new friend will have lots of attention and companionship. We can also provide a vet reference and a reasonable adoption fee. We are willing to travel an hour, give or take, for the perfect pup for us. Thank you...

*We are aware there are doodle rescues, among others, out there, so please no e-mails about such. We can afford to take proper care for our pet but the fees the doodle rescues ask for adoption are through the roof and not something we can afford at this time. We also would never think of going to a breeder so CL seemed to be our best option.

Doodle Rescues have unreasonable adoption fees? What do these people think is a reasonable adoption fee?
It doesn't hurt to ask them.  Maybe it was a different rescue than DRC

Thanks for sharing - I don't read posts like that.

I guess they think that vets give rescues free physicals, vaccines, spay/neuter, fecal testing, medicine for ears, etc. Anyone who has ever been to their vet knows how much it costs for all that vetting. If anyone knows of vets with that kind of huge heart and wallet, please let me know - WOL!!

I did receive an email from Lola's family this morning, thanking us for sharing her story. They are hoping that since it has been so long since she was taken, that they might feel more comfortable with taking her outside and by sharing her story again, that someone might see her. I wish them all the luck in the world in finding her.

OMD, how horrible!!  Oh I hope they find her, I feel so bad for that little girl:(  We have a lock on the inside of our 6' fence that is locked at all times.
I had two black lab x stolen from our farm. They were my boys first dogs. It happened just before my sons birthday he was 4. This is worse than having your dog die as you have no idea what happened to them and telling yourself someone wanted to give them a good home doesn't quite cut it . Especially when you know that the people who stole them also took things from the neighbouring farms that same day. To this day I wish I KNEW.

Gracious!  This is horrible!  Now I will insist on putting locks on our fence gates.  My grandson once had a friend who got

mad at him threaten to open our gates and let our dog out.  Needless to say, I  spoke to the child and he has not done

the dastardly deed, but I still am not comfortable with the threat.  Children just have no common sense sometimes.

Regardless of the validity of these posts, this is exactly why my dogs are NEVER left outside without me being out there with them.  I have known people that have had dogs stolen from backyards plus we have a huge coyote problem (think about my chihauhau).

We are in the process of buying a house and it is not fenced in yet, but I am not too worried because I have never been one to just open a door and let the dogs out for a long time without checking in, being there with them, etc...my dogs are too cute and desirable to humans and predators alike.
