So the breeder messaged me this morning and let me know which pup of the litter was ours.

IT WAS AWESOME NEWS - BECAUSE THIS WAS OUR FIRST CHOICE!!!!!

(MALE #3)

So I've been on a shopping spree getting the things we need for his arrival in 4 weeks.

I have a question about chew toys tho.....would love to hear your thoughts.

I already bought a puppy kong to stuff w PB - and a couple of plush squeaky toys.

The hide-a-squirell - a cuddle puppy - and a bob a lot lololol.

But I'm wondering about chew toys like NYLABONES, or ANTLERZ, or BULLY STICKS?

Should I get something like that for our little pup too?

He will be 12 weeks old when he comes home.

"Male #3" is just adorable- lots and lots of good wishes for many fun filled years.

My guy loves his bully stick.  Buy the longer ones, throw them out when they get down to a size he could swallow.  Supervise him when he is young to avoid any choking issues.  Most important buy the ODOR FREE.

bestbullysticks.com has good prices.

If you're going to get antlers or bully sticks make sure they are manufactured and sourced in North America.

www.antlerpantry.com is a good place for antlers - Luna loves deer antlers.

He is very cute. I did not let Cally have antlers or bully sticks to just recently. And she is almost five months, I was just worried she would crack teeth, but that is just me! Cally loves the nylabones. I got her the puppy pack and have not given her the harder ones and I did not want to give her the edible one because I know they are sourced in China but she likes the flexible ones. So go for that, so you do not waste your money on the puppy pack. So something like this would be good, Cally has now upgraded to the giant one. http://www.chewy.com/dog/nylabone-puppy-chew-bone-chicken/dp/39170

In answer to your questions, my doodles won't eat Nylabones, antlers are too hard and they get bored with them quickly, but they love bully sticks and there are some questions about them.  Definitely nothing with ingredients from China, but I prefer bully sticks from South America.  Others say North America only, but they are just good byproducts from the beef industry.  You do know what they (bullysticks) are, don't you?  My dogs are used to eating them outside and I give them 15-20 minutes a day chewing on them on their beds outside.  Then they bring them back to me.  When they get too short, throw them out.  I keep them in ziplock bags when they are in the house.  They tend to be stinky.

Your pup looks like he will have a wonderful coat.  So is he a mini (tiny) goldendoodle? Congratulations.  It is a great time for you and your family.  Enjoy.

yes, he is a tiny

breeder told me today he should be 18-22lbs full grown.

and hes the biggest of the litter

Antlers or Nylabones did not work for my boys either. But they do like the bully sticks. Perhaps you will find that your puppy does not want any treats at the beginning. I remember Monty not wanting anything other than baby carrots.  Bully stick are stinky, but dogs seem to like them. Careful about when they get small. My dogs tend to swallow the chewed up bully stick.

You might also try the Beams by Honest Kitchen. Those are dehydrated catfish skins and my boys love them!

Enjoy your adorable doodle.
So cute! Sawyer is not a fan of nylabones. He loves elk antlers and bullysticks. We buy from a local wholesome store only. Sawyer has never chewed on my furniture or things in the house, but I've always made sure he had bullysticks or antlers. I can tell he gets restless if he misplaces them for too long!

Adorable!!!!!  Never gave Libby antlers or bully sticks, and with her sensitive stomach she only chews the white, hard rawhide bones.  The inedible kind.  But your pup is too small for those right now.  Good luck!

He is just a little doll...Congratulations!

Max doesn't like nylabones, he is okay with antlers but he adores bully sticks. I would for sure start giving him things to chew on when he comes home, otherwise he'll be chewing things you don't want him to chew. Like others have said, supervise the puppy with these kinds of things. He's absolutely gorgeous, good luck! (I so want one of their bernadoodles lol)
