Mom Has A Dog of Her Own!

This little guy was found abandoned yesterday.  I posted a discussion about it  http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/abandoned

 

All of the doggy organizations around here were called, and no one reported a missing dog.  Based on how he was found, the people at animal control and the people at the vet's office also feel that he was abandoned.

 

Mom brought Halas to my work just a little while ago for a meet-n-greet with the puppy, and they did fine together.  So my mom is keeping the puppy!  I'm really excited for her.

 

We're guessing he's some kind of maltese-bichon-poodle combo.

 

Please help us think of a name.   We're Bears fans here, and my mom likes beer and baking, so I was trying to think of things along those lines.  Here are a couple of suggestions we have so far:

 

Rocket (his red rocket made several appearances yesterday)

Barley (beer related)

Bumble (Abominable snow monster from Rudolph)

Ditka (Bears)

Bud (Mom drinks Bud Light)

Perry (Refrigerator Perry from the Bears)

Marshmallow or Mallow

 

Let me know what you think of these and offer up any other suggestions.

 

He'll have a busy few weeks in front of him getting used to a new home, getting all of his shots, and getting neutered, but he seems like an easy-going guy, so I'm sure he'll take it all in stride.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!  There are some great names here.  And we're going with first and middle name, so we'll get to pick two.  I think this is our short list so far, but keep the suggestions coming:

 

Barley

Comet (thanks Joanne)

Parker (thanks BG)

Brewster (thanks BG)

Sozo (Greek for rescue)

Clyde (thanks Geri)

 

We may end up adjusting the names a little bit, maybe something like Parker Barleycorn.

Sozo  :)   I'm Greek, so I love the name.  Skilo ( dog ), Galas ( white ) also Greek.  Kukla, ( a baby doll, or stuffed animal)

How about Staley?  That's da Bear's mascot and I think da Bears were originally "The Staley Bears" - after the original owner.
