Brandy keeps bringing in sticks from outside and chewing on them in the house.

We give him all kinds of good things to chew on .....bullys, chicken breast, beef rib

bones but he stills brings in the lumber.

Any ideas on how to stop this.

Thanks,

Dave

Can you take it away before she comes in?
You could use the method we apparently used with Sedona - teach him that bringing in rocks is ever so much more fun than bringing in sticks!  Ha Ha - kidding!!!
Rooney is always bringing in the rocks from the flower bed next to the swimming pool, he also loves to find sticks of wood - yuck.  I try to get him to "drop it" and then give him a treat for the trade but perhaps I'm encouraging it.  LOL.
Make her drop it before she is allowed inside. My Peri has a stick fetish too.  If she has it in her mouth when we are approaching inside, I tell her "drop it" and she does that.
Snickers picks up sticks on our walks and carries them ever so proudly, then when it is time to come inside we say "outside toy" "leave it" and he usually sets it down. Sometimes at his next walk he will pick it back up.
this is cute!!!
Maybe you need a smaller doggie door! Sunny fits through hers fine, but the sticks don't. She has to drop them before she can come inside.
I would teach the dog to 'drop it' on command and then use the command to tell him to drop it as he approaches the door. NO coming in until he does.
If he is bringing them in through a doggie door than you would have to start working with him outside with the "drop it and leave it" commands. We have the opposite problem with Tara. She wants to take her "special" toy outside with her when she goes out to potty.  But the solution is the same-drop it and leave it! It would be a great training exercise for Brandy!
Jack will lug stick across the lawn that are double his weight and size.. I swear he is stocking up to build a camp fire!!!
Before I got Ginger, I wondered why people would have piles of old sticks by their front doors.....now I know...and I smile when I see them there now!!!
Molly & Bailee like large sticks and logs too.  We have a rack on our porch for our firewood and they seem to think it is there for their playing enjoyment.  I can't tell you how many times this year we have had to refill it because they drag the wood off of there and into the yard.  Luckily it's almost spring so we will be able to put it away soon then it will be back to chewing the branches off our poor little birch trees.  I think they are part beaver (because they like wood) and part fish (because they love the water it doesn't matter if it's a puddle or a lake).
