About 2 months ago, I was playing with my blue monkey on the footstool and started to bounce up and down on him.  I was having a great time, when I felt my mom lift me up and say “Oh no you don’t!  Let’s go outside and play ball!”  I was ok with that.  But since then, I have to admit I have been caught red-handed many times!

Last weekend, my sister and her husband came to visit for a long weekend.   I do love my sister, so I took my stuffed elephant over to her and started “playing” with him on the footstool.  I heard my sister shriek “Ewwwweee! What is wrong with him (I know she means me)?  When did HE start doing that?”  Then I feel my mom’s arms around me and she carried me into her bedroom and laid me on the bed.  I thought she was going to give me a tummy rub, but instead she examines my penis and gets a little streak of blood on her hand – not much, just a tiny bit.  Then I hear her say softly, “well, my little man, you are going to the doctor first thing tomorrow”.  Ok, I love to go to the vet – I play with the office cat there – yeah!

We did go to the doc yesterday (but I did not even see the cat) and the doc took one look at me and said, “Ouch -Charlie B you have everted your penis tip with your mounting behavior”. Then she looks at my mom and says that possibly I had a chemical reaction to something I rubbed it against.  Long story short, I had to have a pain injection and then stay there for a while and they did all sorts of things I did not like (they even put sugar inside my penis – apparently this reduces inflammation (who would have thought??).  Then everything was cleaned out.  2 hrs 24 minutes later I was ready to go home.  When my mom came in, I did not make eye contact with her.  I am mad she brought me in for this.  We went home and I laid around for the rest of the day.  I did not feel like eating or drinking.  I did go outside with my mom and dad for wine time, but I just wanted to lay on the chaise with my tiger.  As you can see from the photo, I was not happy!

Update this morning ~  I still feel bad and still do not want to eat.  My mom found the antibiotics she thought I swallowed last night in my muzzle this morning when she was brushing my head and now she is not happy about that!  The doc called to see how I am doing a few minutes ago and she suggested my mom try putting the pills in a piece of hot dog.  Yikes, is she kidding!  My mom is cooking me some chicken and rice right now hoping I will want to eat.  I think I just want to rest for a while.  I am sore and so tired.

Have any of you other doods had this experience?

Oh, by the way, I heard my mom and dad talking and they agreed if they see me even considering humping, they will be working as a team to redirect me.

Oh that is just great – I think my humping days are over,

Charlie Brown

thanks Bailey.

Charlie, I have never humped anything but I do get humped a lot. After reading your story I am glad I never humped anyone. The vet procedures sound nasty. - Darwin

OMD ~ you can only imagine!  I do not want to ever go through that again!

Hi Charlie Brown,

You have a pretty cool name!  I'm a humper too.  I hump every chance I get.  I have to hide from my Mom because she makes me stop and she has that look on her face like she gets a lot when my big brother, Murph is being a bad Dood.  I'm usually a really good boy and so I don't like it when I get "the look".  This seems to be my only bad habit.  My big brother actually helps me out sometimes....he's good that way.  It's so funny when your Doodle parents try to "redirect" you....I laugh at mine when they try it.  I usually play along for a while because it means I get cookies, and then I sneak away and start again.  I almost had to go to the Emergency Vet once because I got "stuck" in that position.  Mom was freaking out.  Good thing it was Yappy Hour and all the other DK Moms told her to calm down and it would take care of itself....eventually.  So, Charlie Brown, it's nice to know that there are others like me.  Maybe we need to start a "Doodle Humpers Anonymous Club".  What do you think?

Do I dare join?  My mom would kill me!  Speaking of brothers, I am getting a little brother in about 2 weeks.  I am very excited about that and can't wait to go pick him up.

Sign me up Guinness its my kind of club...and what goes on in our club will stay in our club!

I am so sorry you had to go through all of this at the vets, but it  sounds like you  are a trooper! I think that picture of you with the tiger is adorable, I must admit we could pass for twins! Too bad we live so far away or we could go out on a date! I hope you feel better real soon!

Chloe

thanks Chloe.  I this you are so cute!

well I live to drive my mom crazy so whenever I want to pull her string get her attention I start humping my baby brother Baxter.  BOY, does that get her attention....works like a charm even if she is inside...te...he:^)  She will appear out of nowhere and calmly yell redirect my attention.

PS.  I don't think the calmly yell is quite accurate but she was looking over my shoulder as I was typing....

PSS.  I sure hope you feel better soon!

Awww Charlie Brown...  I don't even know what humping is, except my little mini dachshund cousin Auggie is always trying to climb up my leg or my shoulder and I think somebody used that word. My mom says he's confused but I kindda thought he just wanted to climb up higher so he could get a better view.  He's pretty little y'know. Thanks for warning me about those vets!   I like my doc but now I know you gotta watch him!!  Hope you're feeling better soon.  Wow, I like your tiger!!!

Dude, maybe we can start a group!  I LOVE to hump, pillows, other dogs, dog beds, anything I can scootch under me :P  Too bad my little sister was taught by Mom to lay down if I got on top of her, no fun.  This hasn't happened to me, but I'm sure sorry it did to you.  Mom and Dad are pretty wise to me now though, they know my body language pretty well and clear the area of pillows etc when I start looking around.  Mom also finds it very embarrasing when I find a dog I really like too.

Hope your feeling better soon Charlie Brown!

Your friend in crime,

Buddy

Poor, Charlie.  We feel so sad for you but we hope that there is lots of hotdogs and fun redirects in your future.  My mom and dad use peanut butter when we have to take medicine.  All three of us get some even if only one of us is getting a pill.  We love it!
