National Doodle Romp 2016 in Walla Walla?

I've wanted to do this for a loooong time.  I think perhaps next year might finally be the time to try it out. 

My town, Walla Walla, Washington is way on the other side of the country from many of you.  But it's a quaint town with culture and a bazillion excellent wineries. 

So I was thinking...it might be fun to host the first annual Doodle Kisses National Doodle Romp here.  Super convenient for me, but would any of you travel for it?  After next year we can move it around to different locations.

How many of you would drive over with your doodle(s)?

How many of you would fly over doodle-less?

How many of you are thinking "No way, crazy lady!"?

If enough people are interested...I can get started planning.  I would most likely aim for May when the local wineries host their Spring Release or June when they do some other thing or another.  BUT that means it would be crowded and hotels booked long in advance.

We have the option of a dog park in College Place (the neighboring town) and there is a nice park next to it.  So we could meet at that park and then those that want to let their dogs off leash could meander over there.  The park has benches so we conceivably have a picnic or get catering. 

What sounds best to others?  Would you prefer a more out of the way park without an official dog park?  A hike/walk?  Take over downtown and visit wineries? 

2/19: UPDATE:  I was going with the tentative date of June 9/10 with the option to stay the whole weekend for those who want to, but no official plans for the weekend.  That seems to conflict with one member who REALLY wants to make it.  So now I'm looking at June 23/24.  The previous week is Spring Release weekend for local wineries and while that doesn't actually conflict with us, it might be really crowded.  Please argue with me over this if you need to.  I don't mind.

That would be nice if several of us could meet up in the RV park. We will be full time RVing by this fall. Looking at Texas for winter, then heading to west coast by April. Maybe up the coast to WA next for a doodle romp. Would love to meet everyone :-)

Leslie, let me know how you like full-time.  We spend lots of time in our RV in the summer to escape the heat and smog in Riverside.  We spend time along The California Coast.  Jolene and Sassy also have an RV.  We might be able to help you with campground info when you come to California.

We are actually in RV now. Just haven't left the city yet. Sold our house a month ago and everything in it :-). Tying up some loose ends and hope to be ready to take off in another month or so. Already love it! Didn't have to spread mulch, cut grass, or pull weeds these past couple weekends!

We love to RV. Ours needs a lot of work but hoping to get that done this year.  I envy you as full time RVers,  We did three awesome trips; 2001 35 states in 3 months across the middle and up to Canada and back (just missed 9/11 by about 8 days); 2013 Alaska (drove all the way up, inside passage back); 2004 the Gulf, all the way around the Florida coastline and up to DC then home.  We live in a beautiful country especially the east coast (so much more history than the west coast, but we have better year-round weather!) lol  We are known as the Travelin' Trio (mom, daughter and granddaughter plus dog, cat and guniea pig then rats)!  We were quite the car load! lol

Thanks, Adina.  This looks like a great RV park and the price is truly low budget compared to California prices.  I bookmarked it for future reference.

Looks like Morgana Le Fey, Tom and I will be there after all! I told him about it and he said sounds good! Not sure if we are driving van, renting RV. I would like to surprise him and take the train.

Being in Northern CA I would consider driving up if it wasn't in May of 2016. Planning to celebrate my 60th birthday in Italy that July:) Saving money for that!!

Well, you are about 1200 miles from me, a 16-18 hour drive. As much as we love road trips and traveling with our doodles, this could be a viable option for us. Can't say for sure, being a year away, but it is doable.
