Odd drinking habits

Luna is what I like to call a "character"  (read: she's a bit weird)

She has many odd habits... and her drinking habits are some of the oddest (I think).

1. She will NOT drink the last 1/2" of a water bowl unless she is REALLY desperate.  We fill up her water bowls at least once a day (and she has one on each of the 3 floors of our house) because she refuses to drink that "bottom" water.  Apparently it's not fresh enough.  

2. She drinks water then uses her wet mouth to clean her water bowl.  Luna takes a few very sloppy sips, then quickly transfers some of the water to her food bowl to clean it out.  Piggy or clean freak?  No clue.

3. Sometimes when drinking out of puddles (I discourage this, but she can't always be stopped) she usually blows bubbles in the puddle.  Why?  No one knows!

Luna may be a bit odd, but her quirks are entertaining :)

So silly! My Gracie Jane also sticks her nose in her water bowl and blows bubbles, picks her nose up and watches the water drip back in. Now this is new...she will eat her breakfast and as soon as she sees her reflection in the bottom of her bowl, she barks at herself! You have to love these sweet, silly doodles!!

Luna is such a character! I loved the puddle habit especially. :-) Darwin's water habit is actually quite stressful to me. He has a terrible habit of refusing to drink water, then once he's completely parched he will gulp huge amounts down at once. I have no idea why. We have tried different bowls, fresh water, pouring water, etc. He just likes to ignore his water bowl, then guzzle once or twice a day. Strange.

Luckily this rule doesn't apply when we are outside playing in the sun, he will drink plenty of water  then thank goodness!

Luna would fit right in here.  G & M have some rather strange drinking habits too.  They want their water cold...and fresh from the "fridge dispenser".  If the water has been in the dish for more than a few minutes they think it's "unworthy of them"...they'll find me and let me know they need new/fresh/cold water.  They often drink together out of the same bowl...it's pretty cute...need to get a video.

Yeah I should get a video of her ritual food bowl cleaning.. it's pretty funny :)  She's a bit camera shy though and tends to stop whatever she's doing when I get the camera out.

Charlie does this too, except he is asking for ice cubes in his bowl. COLD water, please, Mom!

Luna, you are so funny! How strange is the food bowl cleaning?!? LOL!

I've discovered Auggie blows bubbles in the water as well if he is trying to fish out something out of the water bowl. Check out the end of his birthday video. I burst out loud laughing when I saw him do that for the first time. I've never seen such thing before since Monty is pretty boring water drinker.

Does Luna like water in general?

She does... as long as it's not on her ears!  She loves swimming but hates the rain.  She will hold off going outside for a potty break ALL day if it's raining just so she doesn't get her ears wet.

JD also uses his water bowl to wet his face so that he can use his beard to mop up whatever bits of food are left in his food bowl.

I guess with the lack of a beard she just settles for a VERY wet mouth :)
