Oh Irene!

Anyone else on the East Coast about to get smacked by Hurricane Irene?  I live in Portsmouth/Virginia Beach, Va and it's coming for us!  My husband is currently in Boston for is Physician Assistant interview so I'm home alone.  Thankfully my parents are in the area but I hate this time where I constantly check the weather updates trying to make an educated decision on what to do. Prior to Irene threatening to make an appearance, my husband was supposed to drive into town on Friday evening; sleep and rest from the drive on Saturday and then he and Brinkley were going to take a road trip to to TN to visit his parents.  I was originally supposed to go until DH's interview got schedule right in the middle of when we had originally planned to drive to TN.  Now I think DH is going to swing into town Friday night and leave in the middle of the night Friday/Saturday early morning.  

 

I really wish Irene would go out to sea!  Anyone else making preparations for this beast?

Thanks!  Praying everyone else makes it.  The good thing is I wasn't one of the Doodle owners that had to take their dog out in this.  My husband has Brinkley with him on his road trip.  It was perfect!

WHEW! Didn't see this before my post!  So glad you are safe with your parents'.  Doesn't matter how old I get, I always want to be with my parents when times get hard!  We're just beginning to get the beginning of wind and rain, but it's not supposed to officially hit us until about 8AM

FYI,  incase you loose power and have hundreds of dollars worth of food, frozen or cold, in the fridge,you can take a picture and make a detailed list and submit it to your insurance company. Some home insurances will reimburse you for your loss.

It may not be enough if it's your only claim, but it can count towards the whole claim. It always worked for us in Florida, so just thought I'd mention it. Good luck tonight everyone.

I live right near Shelly. It's raining hard and the wind is starting up. It's supposed to hit us in the morning, as of now by 8am. Unfortunately, we now have a tornado warning as well. This should be a fun night of no sleep. Good luck all.

It's 1:15AM... wind's starting to pick up and rain harder now....Tori hates to go out in the rain I had to literaly carry her over the puddles before she would even try and pee... never mind poop.   Boy do I wish I was still in Hawaii!  LOL Ali...let's have a hurricane sleepover!  LOL

We are all good at my parent's house.  We were one of the few that didn't lose power at my parent's house. I've been at their house since 5am yesterday morning.  Not sure how my house is... I need to go check it out once the flooding recedes.
